    Top Gun Auto body defrauded my auto insurance company, as well as ** as auto owners. We had a minor repair involving the front bumper on a 2018 ****** Forester. The original estimate was ******* with an estimate of 4 days in the shop. They also scheduled a date to bring in the car with an anticipated repair timeline of 3-4 days. We brought the car in on the scheduled date (3/30/23). We had to call on the date (4/3) we were supposed to pick up the car and were told they needed to order other parts (their incompetence in estimating). I called their office repeatedly to get an update on when the car would be done. They did not return calls, and when I did speak to a person, they were rude and evasive. The car was finally ready to pick up on 4/14. When they gave me the documents, I noticed that they had charged our auto insurance company $4,722.96! There was a long list of remove/install items listed that had nothing to do with the front fender. Because of the delays in finishing the car, we ended up having to rent a car for $250.00 that would not have been necessary. I have complained to the company and they have not addressed my complaint. I also discovered that there are a large number of other ****** area people who have had similar experiences with this shop.

    Thanks for reaching out in regards to this complaint. First off Top gun has one of the best estimators in the **************** that is very involved in continued education. He has won some state given awards for his excellence. There is no way to find all the damage until you remove bumpers and parts of the car to make sure you get car back to pre accident condition. And that is what insurance company's owe for there policy holders in the state of *******. No insurance company will pay the shop until we document the damage and submit photos or evidence from the loss. This is the time delay *************************** is referring to. I can not start on her vehicle till the insurance company is given time to review the supporting documents and photos. We did not do anything to *****'s ****** pertaining to the fender. We did put fender liners on the vehicle. That was also loss related due to the bumper. Once we get approval we then order the parts. Last we at Top Gun are a ****** certified ***************** My team has had stringent advanced training direct from ******. Every vehicle has different things direct from ****** they want ** to look at after a ********. You can reference the attached documents from ****** "If the vehicle is involved in a ********, even a slight ******** be sure to check the following systems". This position statement was sent to the insurance company as well to make sure we agreed it need to be done. They agreed we needed to preform this per ****** guidelines. So BBB We are sorry *************************** is upset at Top Gun but we still are more happy she is driving a safe repair to keep her and her family safe. One last thought regarding this complaint is The estimate on record is for *******************. And the work Authorization is signed from *******************. I am not sure the connection with *************************** in regards pertaining to ******************* and worry about anti privacy laws.
