My wife, *************** ********, handled all arrangements with ********************** and accompanied me on the purchase. She also notified ********************** of the problems with the truck, so her statement is written as follows: ********************** misrepresented himself, his dealer status, where the truck came from, why he was selling it and that the underside had been spray painted to cover extensive rust damage. My brother went with me to look at the truck and test drive it. When my husband and I later purchased the vehicle and left, we took the truck 2 hours home to a trusted mechanic to replace the serpentine belt as a preventative measure and to have it looked over for any basic wear and tear items that needed to be addressed. Upon hoisting the truck, the mechanic discovered overspray and realized that the underside had been painted in black spray paint to hide the extensive rust that destroyed the exhaust system. I immediately scheduled to have an exhaust specialist look at the damage and was quoted $5,139.81 to replace. I have attempted to resolve this directly with ********************** who stated "I think you better get a lawyer." ********************** has had an ever-changing story about himself, his business and the truck. This was obviously purposeful. #1- The spray painting was covering almost the entire underside of the vehicle and was not obvious until hoisted in the air and lighted and the mechanic scraped back the paint to reveal the rust #2- ********************** bought the truck through his and another dealership so he knew the condition it was in. #3- ********************** had specifically been asked by my brother, in my presence, if ******* used salt or cinders on the roads due to rust. ********************** replied that they use cinders or sand. When I attempted to resolve this issue via text he told me that truck was from ****** which was another misrepresentation. I have over 40 additional attachments of text conversations that I can provide that support my claim.
