We made a Pay Later reservation for this property (meaning payment is made @ the property upon arrival ) for dates 07/20/23-07/23/23. However upon arrival @ the property the lodging was disgusting: a dirty shack, door was broken, no running water, no sheets, dirty! We spoke w the employee there- ******** & requested a full- refund. She said she would need to email her supervisor for a full refund/cancellation in the amount of $569.39. We returned home on 7/28/23 & in checking our credit card statement my husband was shocked to discover his card had been charged back in 1/19/23 by this merchant! Additionally he was charged for more than double the cost for the 3 days of this reservation (the charge to the credit card was for $962.97! ). We immediately contacted Expedia & were told by more than 5 agents that Expedia does not provide our credit card info to merchants for Pay Later reservations! How then did this merchant charge our credit card & make an unauthorized charge for more than double the amount of this reservation ?! We are continuing to attempt to get a refund from either Expedia or Glacier Properties! This is a SCAM! Glacier Properties is completely misrepresented on the Expedia website! The pictures represent NOTHING that is really there! We were completely duped! Somehow it must be a scam between ******************************** as we have made multiple complaints to Expedia about this property & how they are misrepresented, yet Expedia continues to list this property as a stay on its website! Also they have done nothing to assist us in getting our refund! They continue to say that they do not release the customers credit card info to the merchant on Pay Later reservations & that they only use the credit card as a guaranty? Then how did this merchant charge us for not only a stay that was never completed but also for an incorrect amount that was more than double what the stay was supposed to be booked for! This is a TOTAL SCAM!Please HELP!

We were going to ******* to spread my fathers ashes. I reserved 3 rooms at East Glacier Motel & Cabins, Sat., 6/17 with checkout Mon., 6/19. On 5/31/23, my cousin in ********, ** said it has been raining and the site we need to get to is too muddy; call back in a week and see if it is better. On Friday, 6/9/23, my cousin said it is still raining and areas are flooding. There is no way we can get to Mitten Lake to spread dad's ashes. I was gone for the weekend but on Sunday, 6/11/23, I went to my reservation confirmation (for 6/17) to cancel my reservation for the upcoming weekend. Then I saw the policy stating if I dont cancel by 6/02/23, I'd be charged the full amount. I did not have the info I needed on 6/2/23 to know that I could not use my reservation. There was an option on my confirmation to MODIFY YOUR BOOKING so I moved my booking from this weekend to a weekend in mid-August. This all happened Sunday, 6/11/23, a week ahead of my reservation. On 6/15/23 we were charged the full amount of the hotel reservation for 6/17/23. I realize that the e-mail states the cancelation policy BUT I would not have changed my plans but for circumstances outside of my control. I would like to at least talk with someone at the business, and perhaps discuss what happened and I tried to mitigate the damage by moving the reservation rather than canceling. The confirmation gave the option to request an exemption from paying the cancelation charge, but it did not let me complete the form. Plus the business uses a 3rd party booking vendor (Agoda). There is no way to contact the booking agent or the business directly. This has been an exceptionally disappointing, discouraging and frustrating experience. I uploaded 1 of the 3 receipts I got. They are all the same.
