I hired Allied Moving to handle my move. The day of the move these people showed up. I contracted for a tractor trailer and a shuttle truck. They showed up with a shuttle truck at 2 pm. They had no intention of taking the entire load. They charged me for professional packing. They were ill prepared, unprofessional, lazy, and rude. They lost multiple boxes, broke or damaged the majority of my furniture, did not protect my items, threw things in boxes, and have not been accountable whatsoever!

We here at Allied are sorry to hear that your recent move with us was so frustrating. It is my understanding that your initial estimate was for approximately 6,000lbs being that most of the items were not going with shipment. The first driver that was at your residence was able to load that amount successfully. The local warehouse sent out their crew to pickup other items left behind which ended up being more than the original estimate at approximately ***** lbs. We understand your frustration and are working to resolve all claims and disputes regarding the shipment. The long-haul drivers  use a 52' trailer in which multiple shipments can fit on depending on the size and weight of estimated shipments booked.

I am rejecting this response because:
The driver was there the first day and was on the phone with the ******.  They did nothing during this time frame.  I told the ******, driver, prior to arrival that they needed a tractor trailer and shuttle truck.  I verify this.  They showed up with the shuttle truck.  Instead of sending what would have taken one day on my load he took 3 days to load this which resulted in the damage, missing items.  They were unprepared showing up day 2 without adequate supplies, smelled of marijuana all day, threw things in boxes without padding whatsoever, were talking horribly about the ****** and myself.  The driver was NOT licensed to pull a tractor trailer which is why he did this out of greed!  Instead of having a qualified driver take the load.  Two of the trucks had breathalyzers in them (clearly they have a drug use problem).   My items were not kept in the same truck and therefore were missing as a result of this.  Boxes were opened and gone through.  Things were not professionally handled!

We here at Carey have been working diligently with our claims department to resolve the damages or claims that incurred during your move. On the first day the driver that was scheduled to load you was under contract for hauling ***** lbs. when in fact  a total weight of ****** lbs. was loaded and hauled. Your ****** which was not the Carey moving and storage of Asheville location but was a Allied agent located in ******* were the ones you had a virtual estimate done with who wrote up a contract stating the ***** lb. estimate. That ****** started by trying to rectify that situation by making sure all the goods that you then wanted moved would be taken care of and only increased the bill to reflect a total weight of ***** lbs. In regards to the shuttle aspect when that is needed during a move you the customer wouldn't see the 18 ******* at origin due to the roads or driveway not being large enough to accommodate the size and length of the tractor trailer. As for the crew having as you stated  "breathalyzers"  in the trucks that couldn't be possible as any commercial vehicle being a Uhaul or Allied affiliated truck is not allowed by law. In summary the first driver was able to complete his end of the contract obligation by loading and hauling the original estimate of ***** lbs and the local office did the best they could to accommodate the extra tonnage needing to be hauled that more than doubled your original estimate which was done by a different Allied agency NOT Carey moving and storage or any of the other Carey locations that you have left very poor reviews for.  Again we are very sorry for all the stress and difficulties that you have had to deal with during your move.

I am rejecting this response because:
When I contracted with Allied I specifically told them they needed a tractor trailer and a shuttle truck.  I knew this because that was what was required to move before.  I am not familiar with weight but I specifically told them as did my daughter that it would take two loads.  They came the first day and did little but sit on the phone with the owner.  Additionally, I have not received one cent to settle the claim.  They have done additional Damage to add insult to injury.  The second day team was on drugs all day!  They complained non stop.  They were ill prepared and ran out of boxes.  The driver who bid on this load was not qualified to drive a tractor trailer.  Had he given up the load this never would have spiraled into my things getting lost, broken, and damaged.  As to the negative reviews they are well earned!  My missing ottoman was at ***** office damaged and then sent taken apart.  It is in character that they took a photo not showing the broken feet.  This is the only thing that was repaired properly.  Wheres my missing lamp?  I posted on TikTok and instagram in hopes of someone finding it!  They are worried more of their reviews than resolving this issue.  The breathalyzer was witnessed by more than one person.  They are the most unprofessional organization I have ever come in contact with.  I am documenting this entire situation.

We engaged **** Moving for a local move. We informed 2 individuals that the move involved a restored antique upright player piano weighing approximately 450 pounds. Upon pickup arrival, the movers had no idea about this, lacked the equipment needed and the manpower to move the unit. Additional resources were dispatched, but a 2 hour delay was incurred. The next day, the unit was delivered to our new home. Once again, insufficient manpower and equipment were present. The unit was almost dropped off a ramp and was damaged. In our claim, we cited damage to the finish and the player unit, which now would not properly operate. The exterior damage was repaired, but with respect to the player unit, ****** position was stated as no proof of damage was present. After three separate conversations about moving this piece, they consistently under resourced the move. A function working before the move now does not work. **** refuses to address the problem, hiding behind vague and bogus language.

I have reviewed the claim. The adjuster settled the claim properly. The moving company has no way of knowing the Mechanical operating condition prior to moving a piano and therefore per regulations accepts no liability for the mechanical operation. The damaged caused by the moving company was cosmetic in nature and was repair. That damage did not effect the mechanical condition of the piano.
