    Siding/Repair Contractor
    Wood's Home Improvements owner, Haywood Y*********, contracted to replace vinyl siding, gutters, gables and trim on our home in March 2022. Also, the contract included replacement of termite damaged walls and replacing 2 interior doors. Our insurance carrier demanded that the specific repairs be completed by the end of March to retain homeowner's coverage. Due to contractor's ill repair and shoddy work, we lost coverage and have not been able to get it back. The damage is too extensive to put in writing; photos are attached. Briefly, the vinyl siding began falling from our home in April, the roof is slumping (replaced rotted edges) and the gutters fell off our home dumping gallons of water at our doors and on our porch. One gutter was never reattached! On several occasions, Mr. Y********* was reminded that due to pest problems, the repairs had to be performed correctly to ward off future insect damage. Mr. Y********* made no attempts to make any of the corrections, so we asked that he pause his work until we brought in pest control to set up and spray our home. Mr. Y********* mentioned that he had a family vacation planned (April) and wanted final payment. We agreed that he would return AFTER his vacation, but he never returned. We contacted him (May) to see when he would finish the job because he had left our home open to elements on both sides. He said that he would check on the gables (he ordered wrong size) and get back to us. He never called back and according to ****** (**********), he returned the gables, got a store credit and never ordered new gables. He did not return to finish the job, he did not return the store credit that belonged to us, and he never purchased replacement gables. In June, we followed up with a certified letter to which he REFUSED TO OPEN OR READ. He was contacted on several occasions by the Consumer Protection Division of DOJ and he has not replied to their attempts to solve this issue.
