We hired Davidsons Homes FUQUAY_VARINA/RALIEGH/** to build our home in Jul 2023. We have had nothing but problems with this builder, and the warranty section not wanting to fix our lawn we just purchased less than a year ago. Davidson Homes put down seeds on our lot and they did not germinate. The reason why it wont grow is Davidson Homes did not properly prepare the lot for successful grass germination. They tried to camouflage the condition of the lawn by putting down a germination blanket so that we could not see the condition of the lawn before we closed on our home. Underneath the germination blanket was all kinds of debris, such as large rocks, huge bricks, tree stumps and un- even dirt. We asked them to fix the lawn and they refuse to do so because they say landscaping is not warrantable.Even though they never did the job correct the first time. Davidson Homes used that as an excuse to do nothing because they feel like they only want to just check the box. They never took any interest in seeing whether grass grew or not on our lot. They never watered the grass or did anything necessary to ensure the grass grew because of the clause. You would think that standing by their product is important enough to fix what was not done correctly. We feel like it if they dont put down SOD on your lot, and decide to seed a lawn. They should at a minimum ensure they do whatever is necessary to get the grass to grow on a lawn. so that their customers don't have to spend thousands of dollars on a house they just purchased to get someone to come out and do the job correctly.

At Davidson Homes, we are dedicated to delivering high-quality homes while providing exceptional value to our customers. Your feedback is invaluable to us, as it helps us enhance our offerings and better meet your needs.

We understand your concerns regarding the landscaping package and sincerely apologize for any disappointment. Our package features sod and plantings in the front yard, with seed and straw matting in the back to initiate lawn growth. While seed and straw matting is a vital first step in establishing a healthy lawn, it takes time and proper care to achieve the same maturity as sod.

Its also important to note that weather conditions can affect soil and plantings. Heavy rain or extreme weather, for instance, may reveal rocks or inconsistencies in the soil that were not apparent during installation. Growing a lush lawn from seed is a gradual process that typically involves multiple stages of aeration, fertilization, and reseeding.

We understand that plantings and landscaping can be impacted by environmental factors beyond our control. As a result, our landscaping warranty extends up to the homes closing date. While we are unable to provide coverage beyond that time, were always happy to share tips and recommendations to help you nurture your landscaping into a thriving, beautiful lawn.

Thank you again for your valuable feedback. If you have further questions or need assistance with your landscaping, please dont hesitate to reach outwere here to support you every step of the way.

I originally submitted a service request via Davidson Homes website on 7/24/24 regarding my oven-wall unit no longer working ( at that time I had no clue it was an electrical issue). I was directed by the customer care team to reach out to the vendor (GE) about my issue. After GE confirmed that there was nothing wrong with the stove they advised me to call an electrician. I called the electrical company **************** that was given to me by Davidson Home. At that time I was told that ************** no longer service Davidson Homes and that I needed to find another electrician. I reached out to a licensed electrician ****************** and at that time was informed that the reason my stove was no longer working was due to negligence/ poor workmanship of the previous electrician ****************. It was discovered that the previous electrician did not properly tighten the wires inside the Polaris connector, causing a loose connection, leading to the wires being damaged/burnt & power loss to the oven. I reached back out to Davidson Homes to let them know about the issue and requested compensation for the money I paid($430). I was told by ***************** (customer Care manager)that they would not compensate me for the electrical issue since it was not done by one of their contractors. I am requesting help with this matter since I followed though with everything that was told and given to me at the time of closing. If ************** was no longer the contractor I should have been made aware of that, but was not. I closed on this brand new home on 9/22/22 and this should be covered still under warranty. ***************** was sent out to complete issues during my 1st year review that were never fully addressed. It appears that Davidson Homes rather send out one of their office employees instead of a license contractor to fix issues to try to cut corners.

Thank you for reaching out and for sharing the details of your experience. Im truly sorry to hear about the challenges youve faced in addressing the issue with your oven-wall unit.
After carefully reviewing your case, I want to acknowledge the steps you took to resolve the issue. Its clear that you acted promptly and followed the guidance provided.

When you discovered that ************** was no longer servicing Davidson Homes, we would have hoped youd reach back out to our ************* team for further assistance. Had we been made aware, we would have promptly arranged for a licensed electrician to assess and resolve the issue at no cost to you, provided it was covered under warranty.

Regarding the findings by ***************** while we appreciate the information shared, because the repairs were performed by a third-party electrician, we are unable to verify the original conditions before their work. This makes it difficult for us to take responsibility for the associated costs.

Please know that we are committed to supporting our homeowners and ensuring their experience with Davidson Homes meets the highest standards. If you have any additional questions or concerns, or if theres anything else we can assist you with, please dont hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and I sincerely apologize for any frustration this has caused. We value your trust and appreciate the opportunity to work with you on your home.
