    I booked a ****** **** Suite at The Mayton for $1,100 because it was advertised as having a bathtub. I had been without running water at home for a week due to a plumbing issue and was looking forward to a relaxing night with a bath, shower, and room service.When I arrived, I learned the suite had no bathtub. The front desk associate kindly explained only two suites actually have tubs and offered to cancel the reservation or move me to a standard King Room ($700). I chose the downgrade.I went back to the front desk to return the suite key and inquired about the $400 price difference. I was told I had to speak with the manager. While I waited, I watched her enthusiastically help another guestoffering wine and warm conversation. When she turned to me, her demeanor immediately changed. She said the system wouldnt allow a refund, and when I explained I had only booked the suite for the tub, she rolled her eyes and said, Well, I can put you back in the suite since thats what youre paying for.I turned to the original associate and asked if we could just cancel the reservation entirely, as he had previously offered. The manager looked at him condescendingly and said, You offered to cancel the reservation for a full refund? He confirmed, and she reluctantly processed the refund with a visible sigh and eye ******* this point, I was emotionally overwhelmed and crying. I returned the room key quietlythere was no apology, no acknowledgment of how poorly I was treated. And as I turned to leave, the manager called out across the lobby, The door is that way, adding to the humiliation.Although I was ultimately refunded, the experience left me feeling judged, dismissed, and like I didnt belong therepossibly due to my appearance or age. I believe this level of customer service was unprofessional and inappropriate. I hope the hotel reviews their front desk camera footage to verify what occurred.
