    I paid Shine Salon about $500-$700 in February 2021 for a set of sew-in hair extensions. I had the extensions removed in April 2021 and was told that Shine Salon would keep them until I was ready to put them back in. Shortly after having them removed, I learned I was pregnant and did not want to dye my hair to match the blonde sew-in extensions while pregnant and nursing. Several weeks ago, I contacted the salon about having my extensions put back in. The salon told me they gave my extensions to the stylist who assisted me who had since left the salon. Despite giving my property away, without notifying me and without my permission, they have refused to offer to replace the hair or compensate me for my loss and have just directed me to work it out with the stylist who left. I paid Shine salon for the extensions and was told they would be kept at Shine salon. Thats like going to a bank and depositing $700 only to be told a year and a half later when trying to withdraw the funds that the bank gave them to a financial advisor who left the company. Shine salon owes me a refund for my property that they gave away without my permission.

    We first want to thank the Better Business Bureau of Southern Piedmont and Western ** for acting as a facilitator in this consumer concern. 

    While receiving three other hair related services on February 15, ****; ****************** did place the required deposit for a future hair extension service.  Shortly after this purchase was made, ********************** stylist "MV" left Shine Salon to go out on her own at another area salon. As customary; MV took the hair with her to accommodate ********************** service request at a mutually convenient time.  After speaking with MV earlier this week, we are under the impression that MV has communicated several times with and is working with ****************** to take care of her hair extension service.  Several other related communications between ****************** and MV go back just a few weeks prior to the filing of this consumer complaint.

    One thing to note with hair extension pieces; most manufacturers only recommend storing pieces for a maximum of one year.  Based on the timeline above, the initial deposit was placed over 2 years ago. ****************** also returned to Shine Salon for two other services on 4/07/2021 and 4/17/2021.
    Our entire Shine Salon Family truly values every client we come in contact with and will do everything reasonably possible to ensure satisfaction.  Please let us know if additional details and/or specifics are needed.
