I am writing for assistance in obtaining a refund of a $1575 lodging fee overpayment. I paid for sober living accommodations for my 18-year-old son from 1/21 to 3/12/25. On 2/28, I paid $2100 for the month of March. In an email dated 2/7, I was informed by ***** ****, the extended care manager, that fees were prorated on weekly basis. Due to ongoing drug use by lodgers in this sober living facility, I removed my son from the premises for his safety. A 40-year-old male living in the facility brought cocaine into the apt and gave it to the 3 additional lodgers. Two of these lodgers were teenagers, including my son. Another lodger used drugs in the *** continuously throughout my sons stay. On 3/12, I removed my son from the apt and requested a prorated refund for the rest of March. Ms. **** replied by email that the fees were nonrefundable. She wrote that my 18-year-old son signed a housing agreement upon his admission that outlined housing policies. I feel strongly that **** business practices are predatory in nature. My impaired teenage son with a reading disability was required to sign a financial contract for admission to the sober living facility. I was not provided a copy of the contract or made aware that he was signing this document. Statements for his lodging were sent to me throughout his stay, which I paid in full. We were counseled repeatedly by *** staff that my son was unable to make decisions for himself due to the nature of his addiction, and that we should feel empowered to make decisions for him. Despite this rhetoric, they required him to enter into a financial housing contract at the time of his admission. I requested a copy of this document he is reported to have signed from Ms. **** on 3/13, but to date I have not received a response. Due to the predatory nature of this business activity and failure to provide a properly supervised, monitored and safe living environment, I strongly feel I am entitled to refund of unused lodging fees.

I am having an issue corresponding with Blanchard on a billing statement with their balance. After multiple attempts at emailing and calling, no one will return my messages. There are two charges that I am trying to connect with Blanchard to further discuss.1) One of their charges for 9/17/24 was erroneous submitted to my insurance carrier, ***** as an out of network provider. Blanchard submitted the provider name as **** ***** instead of Blanchard Institute which resulted in a $187.45 charge to me. Blanchard Institute itself is a covered in-network provider. ***** tried to reach out to Blanchard as well to understand why the name **** ***** was submitted when ***** already paid for 9/17/24 services under Blanchard Institute. ***** shared that they left messages with Blanchard but got no calls back. 2) On 6/25/24, I was charged a $75 no show fee for missed appointment. I explained that I was in the hospital on 6/24/24 and once out of hospital I rescheduled appointment for 7/2/24. I was being medically treated and Blanchard knew my situation and was fine with new appointment after the hospital discharge.I am no longer a client at Blanchard because of some of their treatment plans that I do not agree with. However, instead of corresponding with me in a professional manner to understand my billing disputes they are ignoring me and Aetna when we are trying to understand their charges. This seems like an apparent retaliatory practice for not being an existing client because I did not agree with their treatment plan. I have attempted to contact them multiples times since September 2024 via their main phone # ************ and via email at: ************************************** Additionally, I have reached out to ******* True and Will ****** at Blanchard to no avail or response back. All I receive is an auto generated mailed bill each month with a balance of $262.44. I am trying to heal both mentally and physically, but this is taking a toll on my recovery.

We have reviewed the complaint submitted by Mr. *********** and opened an inquiry into the charges in question. In reviewing the case we have been unable to find any attempts from Mr. *********** to communicate with our billing department or the staffed named in the complaint regarding the disputed charges, however we did find discrepancies in how the claims were processed and our communication with ************************** provider. The resulting action is that we have cleared Mr. ************ remaining balance, and no further attempts will be taken to contact the client, as requested in the complaint.
