My experience with ***** at Who Did That was terrible. I went in on a referral to have my car wrapped, meeting ***** at the shop to choose a wrapping material. Something was off with him. We selected a film and talked about getting the job done. He advised that the film was challenging but found it through his many contacts and needed a deposit. I paid him the deposit and set a date to wrap the car. I arrived at his shop to drop the car off, but no one was there. I called him three times to see where he was, but I was left waiting for an answer. I went and drove back to my office, upset about being stood up. He called later with every excuse in the book. I advised him that I couldn't do business like this and asked for my deposit to be returned. He has not returned any of the deposit, and I have taken my car to someone else. Be advised he could be a better businessman and swindled money from me. Something is very wrong with *****, and I hope he doesn't do what he has done to me to anyone else.

      Business Response

      Date: 11/22/2024

As the owner of Who Did That, a vehicle wrap and decal installation shop in *********, **, I have operated with professionalism and integrity for 25 years. This is the first and only complaint I have received, which I believe is baseless and defamatory.

      Background of the Issue

      1.

      Initial Agreement and Deposit:

Mr. ****** and I met to discuss wrapping his vehicle. He selected a custom vinyl that was difficult to source. After contacting multiple suppliers and ***** ******** directly, I successfully procured the material. To confirm the project, Mr. ****** paid a $1,500 nonrefundable deposit via Zelle, which I used to:

      Secure the custom vinyl material.

Reserve shop time for the project.

Arrange for *****, an expert installer, to travel from ********* to assist with the wrap at my expense.

      2.

      Sudden Cancellation:

After all arrangements were made, Mr. ****** abruptly canceled the project, citing his personal opinion about me. His cancellation caused significant financial and scheduling losses, including:

The cost of cutting Ericas trip short. She was originally scheduled to return home the following Friday, but due to the cancellation, I had to change her flight to return on Tuesday. This incurred additional expenses.

Lost revenue from other jobs I could have scheduled in place of his project.

Lost income for *****, who had set aside other projects to assist with this wrap.

      3.

      Unprofessional Conduct:

Mr. ****** refused to communicate with me directly, making it impossible to resolve the matter or reschedule his project.

Instead, he repeatedly contacted *****, my romantic partner, who has no connection to my business. This harassment was inappropriate and unrelated to the situation.

      4.

      Defamatory Actions:

Mr. ****** posted a negative review on ****** containing false information, including misidentifying me as ***** instead of ******. His review was removed after ****** determined it violated their terms of service due to harassing and inflammatory language.

He has since filed this complaint with the Better Business Bureau, continuing to make defamatory and baseless claims.

      My Position

The $1,500 nonrefundable deposit was clearly explained during our agreement and is standard industry practice. This deposit covered the costs of:

      Procuring custom materials.

Reserving shop time for his vehicle wrap.

Travel arrangements and other expenses related to Ericas involvement.

The financial and operational impact of his abrupt cancellation exceeded the deposit amount. His refusal to communicate directly and his harassment of an uninvolved party further escalated the situation unnecessarily. These actions are unprofessional and defamatory.

      Supporting Documentation

I have all supporting documentation, including:

      Receipts for materials ordered.

Flight and travel expense records for *****.

Copies of communications related to the project and the cancellation.

I am happy to provide this documentation if needed to demonstrate the legitimacy of my claims.

      Conclusion

I have built Who Did That on professionalism, quality service, and integrity. In 25 years of business, this is the only complaint I have ever received. I believe this situation does not reflect the standards my business upholds.

Given these facts and the evidence available, I respectfully request that the BBB dismiss this complaint as unfounded.

Thank you for your time and understanding. Please let me know if you require additional information.

Here is the response I gave to his ****** review that ****** removed because his review violated their terms and conditions:

Heres a bold and assertive response while keeping a professional tone:

      Response to ****** ****** Review:

      Dear ******,

Im compelled to address the serious and unfounded accusations youve made. First and foremost, defamation and baseless claims against my integrity are unacceptable. In our initial meeting, we had a positive discussion, selected the specific ***** Brushed Titanium film you requested, and made clear the terms, including a non-refundable deposit. This deposit was not only to secure custom-cut vinylwhich, after extensive sourcing, I obtained at significant effortbut also to secure my time and that of a professional, award-winning installer flown in specifically for your project.

You claim I swindled you, yet it was you who failed to communicate or adhere to the basic professional courtesy of setting an appointment for drop-off. When you arrived unannounced on Monday, I was fulfilling commitments with out-of-state installers at a parking deck project. My drop-off protocols work efficiently, and other clients managed without issue that day. The fact remains: you disrupted our entire week, leaving my team without work as I scrambled to fill the sudden gap. Flights for *****, a professional installer brought in from *********, had to be adjusted at my expense, and time was irreversibly lost.

Your behavior following this situation was equally unprofessional. Instead of addressing me directly, you harassed a personal acquaintancea woman Ive only recently started seeingwho has absolutely nothing to do with my company. That choice, along with your personal insults about my character, crosses the line into harassment and childish behavior.

I stand by my business and the decisions I made. After 25 years as the most certified and experienced installer across **************, **************, ********, and beyond, *** built a reputation on quality and professionalism. I dont tolerate defamation or childish antics, and I certainly wont refund your deposit for custom materials and lost timeexpenses incurred solely because of your failure to communicate appropriately.

I value professionalism and wont apologize for upholding my standards. Your defamation is baseless, and I suggest you reflect on what true professionalism looks like.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******

      Owner, Who Did That Inc.

      Sincerely,

      ****** ******

      Owner, Who Did That
