Clutter-Me-Not! Junk Removal, LLC was hired to remove a desk from the second floor. On September 7th they removed the desk, but in the process damaged the hardwood floor. I sent them pictures of the floor before and after, which clearly shows the damage to the floor after the desk was removed. The damage was not there before they removed the desk and the pictures of the damaged floor are date and time stamped the day and time they removed the desk. However, they deny responsibility saying the damage was there before. Although I was not there at the time of the incident, my real estate agent was there and witnessed the desk being removed and the damage to the floor. She sent me a signed letter stating, "I certify without any doubt, that the scratches on the floor were caused by the movers and the removal of the desk." I have a date and time stamped text (Sep 7th 1:06 PM) from her that she took right after the damage occurred.Shortly after I sent them the before and after pictures of the floor damage, I finally got a call from the owner after a couple of weeks. He stated he was one of the people that removed the desk and did not cause the damage. Since I was not physically there at the time the desk was removed and the floor damage happened (this is a new house we bought), I said I would facetime him the next time I was at the house so we could discuss. On Oct 9th I called and texted him several times as I was at the house. I tried to contact him every day from then until Oct 19th when I finally heard from him again via text, essentially still denying responsibility. I am willing to accept that perhaps he was unaware the damage happened when he lifted the desk up to take it down the stairs. I said I was looking to just be made whole by having the floor fixed to the condition it was in before the desk was removed. There is no other way that damage could have happened, as there was no one else in the house before they removed the desk.
