On May 28, 2024, I paid **** VadenBosch, of The Roofing Guys, $500 -- half of my insurance deductible because he wanted money upfront to sign me up as a client. I called him several times after that, asking when he was going to replace my roof. He said that he was working on other roofs and would get back to me soon. Weeks later, he asked how much my insurance company had given me for the repairs from the storm we had in early May 2024. I told him the amount, but told him that the amount was also to fix the ceiling and wall damage from the leak in my roof, plus some of it also had to go toward the replacement of my outside window shutters that were blown away. **** said that he would take care of all the repairs inside and outside. Being disabled, inexperienced, and naive, I paid him the full amount of the insurance money because he said that he had to buy the roof tiles. Roofers came and seemingly replaced the roof, then **** said that he was going to call my insurance company to ask for more money because he didn't measure the roof accurately and needed to buy more tiles to finish the roof. I told him that the ceiling, wall, and shutters also had to be repaired. He said that he needed more money to do all that work, and that he was going to call my insurance company. Days, weeks, and months have gone by, and this man has not returned my calls nor replied to my text messages. The address listed on his business card is bogus. There's no 'The Roofing Guys' company at the address listed on his card. He took half of my insurance deductible and the portion of the insurance money allocated to fix my ceiling, wall, and shutters. I have no idea what part of my roof was left unfinished and if rain will cause a leak somewhere inside my house. I've been scammed. He took advantage of a 63-year-old, stroke survivor, disabled woman. I don't have money to fix the work that needs to be repaired, and don't know who to turn to for help. I am of course very upset.
