I am filing a formal complaint against Charlotte Towing and Recovery for unfair business practices regarding an exorbitant booting fee and unjustified credit card surcharge. On 3/2/2025, my truck was booted by Charlotte Towing and Recovery without adequate signage or warning. I was charged a $1,500 fee to have the boot removed. The amount charged is excessive and well beyond what should be legally allowed for a booting fee in Charlotte, ***** make matters worse, Charlotte Towing Recovery imposed an additional 20% credit card processing fee. This surcharge is not only unethical but also potentially illegal, as credit card processing fees typically do not exceed 3-4%. This practice appears to be predatory and an attempt to exploit individuals who are left with no choice but to pay.I attempted to reach out to the company for clarification, but I received no satisfactory response or explanation. This kind of behavior is deeply concerning, and I am asking for your help in investigating this matter and ensuring that this company is held accountable for these unlawful actions.I will going to filed a complaint with the ***************************************, and I am seeking a refund for the unfair fees charged, as well as a review of their practices to prevent others from being taken advantage of.Desired Resolution:Refund of the $1500 booting fee and 20% surcharge.Investigation into their business practices to ensure they are complying with North Carolinas consumer protection laws.Correction of their illegal fees to align with standard and legal credit card processing practices.I trust the BBB will address this matter promptly to protect consumers and ensure fair business practices.Thank you for your attention to this complaint.Sincerely,

Bad for business, $1575 to remove their boot , even if you are in the truck, they will sneak upon you, and knock when they are ready to collect
