I was from out of town visiting my Niece on 12/01/23, 12:31:24 pm. The food and service was very good!!! Everything was good until I notice an "Service Charge (****%) $7.80 on the bill. I question the waitress about it. She was new and didn't know about it. She checked with Management and she was told it is an service charge for the staff of ******************* taking orders, etc. My Niece and I was disturbed that a Business would bill ********* services by the Kitchen, front counter, etc. Shouldn't be part of their salaries? I paid the bill, but didn't leave a tip and I felt the "Service Charge" should cover it. I would like you to investigate if this is a legal charge or against state billing laws. Also, I did not see any where on the menu that stated there would be such a charge. I feel if a business is going to charge such a fee, the Customer should be warned ahead of time. Thanks.

      Good Day.

We are glad to hear you enjoyed your food and experience at Oh My Soul.

With regards to the 15% service charge.
We do not have servers who are dedicated to 1 table instead we have employees who take your orders, cooks who make your food, someone who checks it, another who packs it or takes it plates to your table, and someone who cleans your table and make sure you have water. The tips are then split amongst all these individuals.
The Service charge is clearly displayed on our website , on our menu front of house that you order off, we have a sign by our register and on our clover mini before you put your card in and pay.

We proud ourselves in our great customer service and also giving our employees a fair wage.
We hope this clears the above .

I am not rejecting this response because: I don't really reject your response. It is just that I was from out of town and in the state I come from we don't have a 15% service charge for servicers, employees who take the orders, cooks who make the food, someone who checks it, another who packs it or takes the plates to our table and someone who cleans our table and make sure we have water. Isn't these services covered by the salaries paid to the employees?  I was taking to the restaurant by my niece who likes this place. So, I didn't review the website. I don't remember seeing this service charge on the menu, any sign by the register or on your mini before I put my credit card to pay. I am not saying it wasn't displayed, only that I was reviewing your chalk and the food you had displayed and didn't see it. Still, I enjoyed the ambiance, staff and food. Next time I come to your state, I will definitely review the menu, any website and anything else I need to see.  I just wanted to understand the charge, that's all.
