    On Dec 28, I hired **** ******* to create a bookshelf in my entryway. He did the work, and I Venmoed him $1800. I reached out the next day with several photos saying I had some concerns. He came by December 30 and realized he needed to buy more supplies.I texted him on Jan 4 to see if he had gotten the supplies and got no response. So I texted again on Jan 7 asking again. He said he was in ** and that I should just buy the supplies myself. This was not what we agreed upon. I asked if he could please advise what ideas he had to make it look more finished. He never responded. I texted him on Jan 20 asking for a refund considering the many attempts to communicate and the work still not being fixed. He denied this and eventually came to the house on Jan 25. I was extremely clear about the issues I had, pointing out several areas that I had mentioned in my original text messages. He came to add trim to the top of the shelves and there was a lot of discussion around this. I told him very specifically that I wanted everything to be completely flush and level (both verbally and in writing). **** kept talking over me, acting like this was extremely obvious, but I said I want to be extremely clear considering our past issues. **** started working and I told him I would be in the next room if he needed me. He worked on the shelves for an hour, then snuck out without a word. Several concerns that I had documented both verbally as well as via text weren't addressed. I again sent pictures of the concerns, which were the same as before. He blamed the wall not being level and said its not his problem. I sent several photos of bad work that needs fixed- nails hanging loose and shelves that are an inch below each other instead of being level - and he has ghosted me. I reached out a last time to tell him I would expect a refund as the work isn't fixed, and he has not responded. I expect financial compensation so I can pay someone else to fix his mistakes.

    After reviewing your complaint and the details of your experience, we stand by our policies and the service provided. Our records indicate that we corrected said issues and also provided crown molding at our expense that wasnt part of the original agreement. The pictures provided by the client were from prior to the repairs. 


    While we understand that this outcome may not align with your expectations, we have made every reasonable effort to address your concerns in accordance with our policies. If you have any further questions, we would be happy to clarify them.

    I am rejecting this response because:
    these photos are the current state of the shelves. Yes, the trim was addressed, and that is not my complaint. My complaint is that the shelves are not level, which has been my complaint since my original correspondence on 12/29. This complaint has been addressed verbally as well as in writing. You claim to have done every reasonable effort to address this, however there has actually been NO effort to address this. I am not asking for a full refund. I am asking for a partial refund as I will have to hire a new contractor to fix the middle shelf that was never level from the start and was never addressed after as well as the trim not being level. 

    You said the trim is flush with the ground. But like I stated, if it is flush with the ground and not flush with the shelves, the shelves you created are not level. No caulk or paint will fix this. I am once again asking for you to please make this right and refund me for the work it will take me to hire someone else to make this acceptable.
