I signed up for a gym membership with Fit for Life on Hwy 70 in **********. After approx. 8 months, I was disenchanted and began to seek a way to end the membership. I was told that I was not allowed to "end" it prior to the one year. And I would have to wait because it was "too early" to request not to renew. I was told to wait until about 3-4 months prior to the end of year. As my year ended in December, I called again in September. I was told to click a link (they sent me) and go from there to initiate the cancellation. I did that but never received confirmation. I called back 2 additional times and they led me through the same process. After the 3rd time, I was upset. It was now November and they were saying that it was so late now that it "should" cancel in time, but they were not sure. I called back the following week to make sure it went through and was again told to start all over again! I argued with the gentleman and told him that I better not be charged in January. Unfortunately, I was charged in January and February and when calling again was told my plan had been renewed and I was stuck for another year. I immediately notified my bank to stop all payments to them and shared what had occurred. They did an investigation and recovered my funds for January and February. I thought it was over, but now there are bill collectors calling all day and night - me and my husband! ************ has hired a company called ********** ****************** to ******* me and my family. They are saying I owe over $384 when I truly owe them nothing. The bank only recovered funds charged after my membership should have been dissolved.

Fit 4 Life and Peak Serve work together to provide services to clients for PT. The gym provides PT for clients, and ********** manages their billing/contracts. When contract issues occur at the gym, they play off each other so that nothing ever gets handled. I recently had a contract with the gym and the services were subpar with regards to PT. I ended the contract through the manager, and he said that he would process it at a certain time. Instead, it did not get processed until later and I was charged for an additional month of PT that I never received. I was already owed at least 2+ months of PT because of the inconsistent availability of the trainers. It's actually more, but I eat some of it. When I brought up refunds for sessions missed by the trainers, they said it couldn't be done because the billing was through Peak Serve, not them. After canceling the training contract, the manager told me that I would receive a refund of $280.01 for the extra month that was billed but not the missed training sessions. Peak Serve has refused to honor the refund. I have recently stopped paying the regular membership to see if they will now do the work of honoring my refund. Instead, they said they could cancel it but that my account did not show the refund due to me. Then, they said that it is 60 days to cancel the membership and that I would continue to be billed. I have paid over approx. $3,000 to deal with inconsistent services and poor business practices. I haven't even used any of their facilities since June 2024 and I'm still owed 2+ months of PT sessions in addition to the refund that I am owed. In fact, I can't even use the sessions owed because the closest facility doesn't have trainers. Now Peak Serve wants to keep charging me for another 60 days of services I don't want. It doesn't take 60 days to cancel a membership. It didn't take 60 days to start the process, it shouldn't take 60 days to end it. Peak and Fit4Life need to fix this.

I asked to cancel my PT traininings, they were 30 min trainings. Useless to me. I agreed to finish paying out the contract because I would have been charged 50% of the contract fee upfront. They just charged my account 188, outside of the contract duration date. My contract ended in august, it is now september. Why am I still being charged that much? I only ever used 4 of the trainings out of what I paid for, why would I want ANOTHER 4 added to my account that I will not use? I contacted them in june and in august. Guess what? No refund. ** has better benefits, costs less, has better parking. Even their own team goes to planet fitness, as I have seen their employees there.
