This company failed in doing a professional job when thoroughly inspected by the owners.
June, 2022, we contracted to have our deck replaced and there were errors in building the deck and the company refused to make corrections and because of this we had to report them to Pro-referral through Home Depot where we received 3 recommendations for replacing our deck. We chose East Coast Builders, Vahid T*****. Vahid failed to get a permit, would not have the deck inspected, left a chuck of cement debris under the deck. Some cement was removed, but not all. After taking down the old deck, he left the old wood on the grass for 3 to 4 weeks, and I had to call him to pick it up because the grass had died. I reported this to Home Depot and Pro-Referral and they said that they were not responsible for bad work. The wood panel laid on the deck has spaces in it and one plank was not nailed into the beams. The man who did not speak good English said that he would fix it, but did not. Also, some of the rails were not steady, easy to shake. At the end of the stairs of the deck, East Coast Builders left two planks of wood sticking out and would not cut them off to be even with the steps. You have to make sure you would not trip over the wood when walking in the yard. Our deck is almost 8 ft off the ground, and I asked them to put more nails in the rails to make them more safe and Vahid would not. I asked Vahid to resow our grass due to him leaving the wood on the ground longer and he would not. Sent pictures to Pro-referral who offered us some money to get it fixed if we signed a statement and not talk about them or the company. We did not signed the statement and did not accept the $600.00 from Pro-referral, from Cosme Retana, Resolution Expediter, 4000 E. 3rd Ave, Foster City, CA 94404 because it would have cost us more money to get another company to make the repairs or redo the deck. Our deck was replaced with some good materials and some cheap materials.

The *****'s contract to have a deck and fence replaced. The deck was finished and looked good, however, upon examining the work closely, there were serious and dangerous flaws. One, two sections of the rails shook, floor boards not laid closely together, in nailing the floor board a nail missed the floor board. Not properly nailed. Second, at the bottom of the steps, wood is sticking out on the ground. They did not cut it off to be even with the bottom of steps on the ground. Third, worker cut the wrong wires under the old deck. Husband thought the man was talking about the wire to the satellite attached on the rail of the old deck, but he cut the wire cord to the jacuzzi and put caps on it and left it hanging on the ground. Fourth, once the old deck was demolished, they left the wood on the grass for about 3 weeks and our grass died. I had to call Vahid T***** to tell him that our grass had died. Fifth, Vahid wanted to charge more money than agreed upon to replace our fence. This happened after he finished the deck. Vahid told us that he gave us a price to replace half of the fence and not the whole fence like it was and that he could not replace our fence because he needed more money. I asked Vahid T***** to resow our grass back due to the old wood being left too long and he would not.
He is not a man of his word. Also, Vahid T***** failed to get a permit to rebuild our deck and he failed to get it inspected. Our deck is 7 to 8 feet from the ground. Loose rails are dangerous and wood sticking out from the steps are dangerous. You have to walk around it. Six, they finally cleaned up their mess but let a big block of cement under our deck. Seven, the rebuilding of our deck took longer than what was stated on our agreement with him. Eight, the wood of the floor board looks of cheap quality. Floor boards not thick as I expected. Cheap flashing against wall.
Mr. Vahid T***** refused to make corrections to make sure that our deck was safe.

      Dear Mrs. *****
I'm sorry that you are not satisfied. The deck build right and there's nothing wrong with it. The last day I was there I walk through with your husband, and we couldn't find anything wrong. You are not contractor or deck builder to verifying what material is cheap or not. I send you to pick the select wood you were looking for and you find out you have to pay twice to use that type of material and I build your deck base on budget you could afford. I can't pay from my pocket to make everybody satisfied. Also, we use screw to build our deck not nails as you said, they are different fastener. Hope you can find someone to build your fence for the price you want to pay.
      Regards.
      Vahid T*****
