This school has been reaching out to me for over a year. When I finally respond everyone stayed in contact with me and then when we got to questions about tuition they continued to tell me that that **** would reach out to me. I kept reaching out and got no response. I was finally advised that i needed to pay the $300 admission charge/program fee to move forward. As soon as I paid the very next business day I received a call from the financial **** stating that because I g=had a bachelors degree I would not have any funding available because the program was equivalent to a bachelors. The school cost $60,000 and the only thing offered is a ***** scholarship from the hospital that you may or may not ghave to pay back in the end. I had expressed that I could not afford to pay out of pocket that much money and I had already been accepted at a few other affordable schools at a lower level associates degree. I reached out to get my money back and was advised by the registers office to try to enroll within a year to avoid losing money. I stated this was not fair because lack of communication and the fact that this was provided to me after they got such a lump sum of money. I explained I needed this for another school that was more affordable. they were hard to get a hold of and everyone stop being available. I even tried to reach back out over the summer because i was told other funding may come available. They still continue to send me alerts but no one has discussed what they could do regarding this situation. I feel this school took my money knowing I wasnt eligible. This $300 needs to be asked after the student is provided where they stand as far as cost. Had I known this I would not have paid anything. I basically thew this money away and allowed them to profit off me regardless if I was able to attend or not. I have been debating if I should reort them and I decided this is the time. It was a great injustice to me. I feel like they do this regularly due to cost

The complainant was accepted into the Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for Fall 2023.  The student paid her non-refundable deposit the day after acceptance.  It is important to note that her statements of our cost of attendance are exaggerated, as tuition and fees are much lower.  A full explanation of the program tuition and fees is available on the Colleges website, along with a net price calculator which allows any prospective student to see the expected cost of attendance. This information and these tools are made public for the express purpose of being transparent of our costs before a prospective student decides to even apply, pay an application fee, and certainly before they would commit by submitting a non-refundable deposit (this information about being non-refundable is made up front).  The student was offered and accepted not only Atrium Healths Forgivable Loan (which is paid back in service), but additional College scholarships as well.  To further assist with costs, the student was invited to complete the ***** as well as explore private loan options.  Members of the admissions team were accessible and available via multiple methods, phone, email, virtual sessions, drop-in appointments, etc.  The student had several email communications with the Director of Financial Aid and one day simply stopped contacting the College.  Two months later (following additional scholarship offers), The student requested that her application be moved to an inactive status, and we did so accordingly.  The information shared by the complainant is incomplete and inaccurate.

I am rejecting this response because: the cost of attendence is not what my complaint is about. I informed them of me being out of pocket for the completion of my bachelors and that if the amount being offered was nt enough or was not going to benefit me a great deal to please let me know. It wasnt unti I paid the $300 that they immediately informed me that I would still have a huge out of pocket expense that had already infrmed I wouldnt be able to pay. After I complained they got back with just to inform that they would not refund my $300. I When I reached out they told me they would hold the money for a year. I stated that due to the amount and the fact that I could no longer receive tuition at bachelors level I would not be able to come back at anytime. My complaint is that they knew this before I paid the $300 they just were hoping I could afford to pay a $8000-10,000 semester and I could not. I made this kknwn from he beginning. What they should have said since the financial aide is skilled in this area was that because this educational level is equal to what you already have and you say you can afford a high cost even with the ***** scholorashp offered we recomend that you do not pay the $300. They led me to believe that out of all the listed tuition scholarships options they had I would  be able to utilize and I wasnt. We even went as far as them reaching out to the oversear of the department which I had to follow back up because she forgot to reach out. This was to see if I was eligible for some type of hardship loan.  They need to be direct with people up front.  Honesty upfront would have allowed me to make a better decision to avoid payment. They win even if. you cant afford to go there and they keep that lump sum of money knowing you cant afford to pay out of pocket. Even in my case when I stated I would not be able to apply for a loan.
