2-13-2015 I hired ***** ***** around the 1st of December 2 tear down an existing roof over my front porch n rebuild the entire roof. I had this done because, 1st of all, the original builder did not get a permit n done a terrible job. I pointed everything out 2 Mr. ***** n explained 2 him that the other builder did not get a permit n asked if he would b getting 1, HE SAID YES and that the person should have gotten one. I purchased the materials myself separately from the $4,500.00 that I paid Mr. ****** I paid Mr. ****** once the job was supposedly completed. Then 2 realize that he DID NOT get a PERMIT n that there were several areas that were poorly done. This was all pointed out by a builder that stopped by my home like a week later. I noticed also all these materials lying around my home n contacted Mr. ***** abt. these issues. He then informed me that they would be coming bck 2 put those things bck on my home. During that conversation I also mentioned 2 him abt areas that were poorly done and the PERMIT. He wanted me to send pictures but I told him that he needed 2 come 2 my home 2 c it.He came by the same ********** as the guys who were 2 put the things bck up but separately. Me not knowing what a permit look like, I asked if he got one. He said the last guy didn't get 1. I said that's irrelevant, u tore that down n rebuilded it, u were suppose 2 get 1. He stated he would have 2 tear all the back board down because they would have 2 c behind it. I said I wasn't buying more ********** said he would get the ****************** this man is paid but everytime I called him 2 finish the job he was like I'm spending time with my family or we're out of town. Later I said 2 him just finish the job. He started saying I hadn't paid 4 work that had been done. One thing led 2 another n here I am.I am resending this because I may have left information out to enable you all to contact him. If you all would, PLEASE reach out again. Thanks in advance. ****** *****

      Business Response

      Date: 03/19/2025

Ms. ***** contacted me early November to review the covered porch she had erected previously.  Upon officially introducing myself and reviewing the structure, informed her I pull permits for all my jobs. It was obvious the previous work performed was not permitted.  Ms. ***** requested a price to take down the existing structure and to erect the same roof covering but with larger support post.

I followed up with Ms. ***** with a quote of $4500 for labor only to do the demo and rebuild the exact structure which she agreed upon.  Provided her a materials list to do the job. Shortly there after she forwarded a photo of a screen porch.  Informed her to hang 2 doors and place screen would be another $600 but we would need to review what specifically she wanted because it involved more than what we previously agreed upon.

Ms. ***** was to have the materials on the job site to begin the work but contacted me stating Lowes could not deliver the materials by prior to the start date.  My guys shared they could do the work on Sunday (12/1) in-between jobs or it would be another two weeks before they could do the work.   She did not want to wait until then and agreed to the Sunday.  She provided me her receipt and I went to the Pineville Lowes to pick up all the materials she paid for and delivered to her house on Saturday evening.

The workers came Sunday and begin work while I was working on a kitchen remodel for a family out of town during the Thanksgiving holidays and due back 12/3.  Later in the day, I stopped by Ms. ****** property to check the progress which she was pleased with.  We then discussed in detailed screening in the porch.  She wanted the screen to run across the entire front porch and side, align a storm door with the front door and also on the carport side as well.  Informed her additional 6x6s and 2x6s are need to achieve what she wanted to do.  She then shared she wanted to cover the ceiling since her existing porch was covered.  Informed her that the additional changes were change orders and told her the cost ($1,0000) for the additional work and she pay for the materials. She agreed to the price, stated she will reimburse me and I went to get the materials.  Because we didnt discuss in advance I called her while at Lowes regarding the ceiling board to determine what style and thickness she wanted.  She informed me to get the $25-27 sheets since she had already spent so much money on materials. Upon returning with the materials Ms. ***** gave me a check for $4500 and stated she would pay for the materials and change order on Monday.  She then expressed interest in adding a fan to the ceiling.  Asked her if she wanted to use my electrician or she would get one.  Informed her I was not sure if she would have the height clearance to add a fan but let the electrician make the determination. Told her that I had not pulled the permit yet and would do so on Monday and could add the electrician to my permit.  She then decided she did not want to add a fan.

Several hours later the crew called to state they were done with the exception of adding coil which they were waiting for her to provide on Monday and requested payment.  Informed them, payment would be made after inspection and then installing the ceiling boards.  They informed me Ms. ***** instructed them to install the ceiling boards.  I immediately reached out to Ms. ***** to confirm which she did and we had an unpleasant exchange.  I went by Ms ******* residence on Monday and had another discussion about her unapproved direction and that the boards need to be removed for the building inspection.  She communicated she did not want an inspection as she was afraid the concrete pad she installed was not permitted and inspected and may have to be opened and or removed.

Two weeks later Ms ***** contacted me about the ceiling board buckling. She mentioned another Contractor had been by and she regurgitated information and questions from that individual.  I went by a couple days later to review it.  Informed her the buckling was from not using better material.  Informed her which boards were needed, we would take it down and we can now get the inspection.  She informed me she just wanted the existing boards corrected in the 3 places and no inspection.  Now were in the holidays and havent heard from my framer about going to address the  concerns.  I was then contacted by Ms ***** as to when the corrections were going to be made.  I was headed out of town for New Years but informed her I will take the appropriate actions once I get back.  She inquired if that was to fix the boards.  Informed her taking the appropriate actions consist of removing the boards, getting the inspection and then reinstalling a stronger board.  I was informed if I removed anything, there would be some consequences.  I took this as a threat of potential physical harm or endangerment.  After speaking with several individuals, I was advised to not to go by her property.  February 14, 2025 Ms. ***** text inquiring if I was going to make the repairs.  My response was that I would be wiling to take the appropriate actions as communicated before if she could confirm a safe work environment and pay for the change orders ($1,000) and materials reimbursement ($450) she owed.  I did not and still have not received any response.

I am rejecting this response because:
Everything Mr ***** has said is totally false and I disagree with it all from the beginning to end. Mr ***** has in his statement proved to me that he is not a trustworthy business person. I would appreciate it if you all could just bring us before a mediator because he his going to continue to give false statements. He just keeps adding on every time he  tells his side. It's never the same story! He's just trying to see what PROOF I have, and I have plenty.

Looking forward to hearing back from you.

      Thanks in advance.

I stated in my complaint the situation at hand. As I stated,  Mr ***** is trying to find out what I have so that he can continue to falsify statements. What I said in my previous statement stands and he will not get access to my proof.

I had an opportunity to read Ms. ****** rejection to my response.  Im not sure what shes referring to regarding wanting to see what proof or facts she have.  I have shared the facts as the events happened.  I have offered on multiple occasions to take the boards down and get an inspection.  Its obvious its not what she wants and essentially want a refund to have free work.  No refunds will be considered or given.
