      Pyramid Land Surveying was contacted 1/2/2023 to discuss land surveying related to pool installation plans. ***************, owner, quoted me $500-$750 dependent upon land layout and encumbrances.Survey scheduled for 1/6/2023. I requested advance contact arrival to allow witness of the process. Surveyor (***) called in advance, and I went to witness the service. Upon arrival, *************** had already begun work, three (3) corner stakes were already in place. He explained they were having difficulty locating the fourth pin to complete the survey. He had located a pin from an adjacent property bisecting my property line & showed me the corner they could not locate.I shared I believed they were looking in the wrong location for the last pin, as well that I believed the neighboring property's pin looked to be too close to my home. I pointed out the area I believe the pin to be, *** used the locater, immediately found the corner pin, marked it, and completed the survey activities. He also went back to the neighboring property's pin, rescanned that area and found another pin that properly met my property boundary.He thanked me for helping and shared that if they hadn't found it soon, they would've had to come back another day to complete the project.I received no invoice until May 8th, 2023, in the amount of $1,052.50, which far exceeded the quoted amount. There was no advance notice of added costs or fees.Upon receiving second notice of the invoice, I reached out to ***** regarding the discrepancy and was told they had to visit my property twice and that the improperly located bisecting property pin added time to the survey. The bisecting property pin is not associated with my property line. My pin(s) were in the correct locations, and ZERO contact was ever made to discuss additional visits or costs.I shared I was willing to pay the *** quote amount plus any accrued interest per their invoice notes, which equates to $807.96. Pyramid refuses to accept.
