Install on 08/01/22 ********************* with engineer *************************** quoted us for a new septic system with a pump tank. When I purchased the property he was to permit and install the new system. Appalachian Septic was paid in full the day of me purchasing the house. They installed it a month after the purchase.I had issues with the new system from the start. The alarm for the pump tank would turn on consistently on a monthly basis, sometimes several days in a row. Often I would have to manually switch on the pump. I called **** to inspect the system 4 times since we owned the property, he assured me it was operating as normal. The alarm once again went off in May of 2024. I decided to open up the pump tank myself to take a look at what the issue might be. I found a 8 in crack in the tank that was 3 inches wide. Ground water was pouring into the pump tank whenever it rained. **** had told me ground water was entering the tank after the installation but he said he fixed it. The crack is not repairable, the tank will have to changed out. I made a video and took pictures of the crack in the septic tank. I sent the video to **** and he claims I must have had a vehicle in my backyard that broke the pump tank. There is a tree and a ***** blocking the way to the tank, a vehicle cannot fit in my backyard. He sent me an estimate of $4000 for the repair. I have had two other septic contractors look at the pump tank. They have said the damage is due to improper back filling and install. I have called ***************************(the engineer). **** said that **** did not follow his instruction for the install for this job and other installs. he never closed the permit, it is still open 23 months later. **** and **** are not speaking to each other. They will not take my phone calls. I cannot get this permit closed or my septic system repaired because they are being unprofessional. In turn it is making it very difficult to sell my house.
