      I have a rental property and the tenant provided proof of residence to HEMC. HEMC would not switch the electricity from my mothers name ************************* to the tenant. I was recovering from a motorcycle accident and surgery and HEMC called to my phone several time before 7am PST. Sometimes before 6am. When I was able to return the call, HEMC wanted a Death certificate. I was not able to walk so I told them it would be awhile but that my Mother had died and confirmed the tenant. HEMC continued to payments from the a deceased persons account instead of retroactively going back and charging the tenant from May 1, 2023 or the date the tenant first notified them. However, it is my understanding they took the tenants deposit. I finally was able to get the death certificate to HEMC on or about May 25, 2023. However, HEMC emptied what was left in my mothers account until the auto draft would not go through anymore. Now when Im calling them to get this resolved, everyone is in meetings, the supervisor wont get on the phone, the person isnt at work today, etc, etc etc. This is absolutely disgusting that the deceased surviving spouse of a veteran would be desecrated this way by a company. No one that *** spoken with at HEMC has even been remotely interested in trying to resolve this so Im filing this claim after the 3rd phone call trying to get to a resolution. Mind you they were waking me up at the crack of **** in ********** when they wanted to speak to me but didnt bother to check WHERE they were calling by their own admission. Once I told them about the death, they could have verified via county records because what if there was no next of kin? They need to deposit any and all funds back into the bank account including funds from the coop.
