      I am a ****************** veteran I receive care and insurance through the veterans affairs I was referred to cape fear neuosurgery for neck surgery. All my care should have been 100% covered through the veterans affairs which is paid through optum. My surgery was November 9th ************************** the hospital and was discharged November 10th 2022 after my neck surgery. Since then I've been receiving unpaid BillsThrough email text and mailSo far I had to pay a pharmacy bill that was discharged prescriptionsOf $173.51Which included naloxone that totaled a $112.87 that I didn't even need. Now since my discharge is put in additional mental anguish on me for having to figure out if I have to pay these bills and while spending hours of my time trying to figure this c*** out Additionally I received another bill for $4245.12 from American anesthesiology Which I don't understand because anesthesia was already paid through the optum bills. I'm still in pain from my surgery and now they want to put me through Additional pain.I was told by the veterans affairs that the cape fear valley insurance department is not billing correctly and all denied bills should be covered if they properly billed the insurance. Additionally since cape fear valley hospital is taking care of veterans and this isn't the 1st time they've taken care of a veteran they should inform the person receiving care from the hospital that certain things are not covered and what is not covered so prescriptions are not covered at discharge they should inform the veteran of that So they can take additional steps to receive prescription from the proper pharmacy. Basically I do not want to receive any more bills that are not paid And do not want to be responsible for them not informing the veteran Of certain charges beforehand For my neck surgery received at Cape fear Valley hospital
