We paid $575 for homeowners property management to send a vendor into our home for touch up paint and cleaning, neither of these things were done and the house was left in a mess! The vendor stole over $500 worth of stuff out of our home and when confronted neither party felt they were responsible to reimburse us for the money and the things that were stolen from us. The owner ******* refused to take out phone calls regarding the issues and when we showed up to discuss these issues she called the cops on us and told us that it would be investigated the following week, it has been two weeks and I havent heard anything back from anyone. We filed a police report and I would like to take this situation to civil court. I cant believe this company has been allowed to operate this long while taking advantage of people. We agreed to use them as our property management company in December and they did not list our property until Late January, and the incident with the vendor happened on 1/13 but we are out of state and we were not able to see the property until 2/10 when we brought the dispute up to the company.

    Business Response

The homeowner contacted HPM in December for property management services. Our intake Manager met with the owners and completed all the necessary paperwork. The intake inspection was completed in full and owner was presented with a list of deficiency items that needed corrected prior to marketing and showing the property. The list contained sanitation and repairs. A local fully insured vendor provided the estimate for the work. The owner agreed to the estimate and the vendor completed. Vendor provided before and after photos of all work completed to owner and HPM. HPM completed a market analysis and advised the owner of a current rental rate in that area. Owner was not happy with that figure and insisted on charging $500 more for rent. Owner also contacted HPM 5 days after the property went live on the market to state she did not like the photos nor property description either. Three days later she contacted me to ask how she could get out of her contract as she was not happy it had not rented. HPM agreed to release the owner from the property management agreement. All of her repair reserve and intake fees were returned to her and under owner directive the keys were placed inside the property and one key was placed under the mat that her neighbor retrieved. After 3 weeks of having possession of her (owner) property back the owner comes to HPM and asks to meet with the property manager. The owner is accusing the vendor of not completing the sanitation and said the vendor stole items. Owner is demanding funds back that day. I go up to speak with the owner(s) and introduce myself and explain that our intake manager will reach to the vendor and follow up with the owner(s) on Monday. The owner then stands up in the conference room and begins yelling, cursing and pointing her fingers to my face. I asked her to stop but she continues on yelling. I then ask her to leave the building as she is hostile, disruptive and very argumentative. The owner(s) refuses to leave. I ask the receptionist to contact the police and 2 police cars show up within 10 minutes. The no trespass verbal order is issued and the owner(s) is advised by the police to not return or she will be arrested.

The vendor did contact the owner on the following Monday and stated the owner spoke to her so badly. The vendor said the owner would not let her speak and continued to **** over her during the phone call. The vendor hung up.
