I did a trial visit offered on ******** for a Summer ******* over two years ago. I visited one time and did not join or go back. They continued to charge my credit card and then sent letters offering toforgive my debt if I would join. I never joined and did not respond as I do not have a debt with them. In fact they owe me for fraudulent charges. I went in twice to talk to the manager and resolve this. Today I received a letter from an attorney attempting to collect a debt. This has become the most stressful, expensive and deceptive experience. I want all of the charges refunded and any further efforts to harass me ceased.

    Dear Better Business Bureau,
****** signed up for a summer membership at Franklin Health and Fitness, as detailed in the attached agreement. She paid $125 for 5 months, after which the membership transitions to a month-to-month agreement. We had over 500 people purchase this membership. Some decided to cancel after the 5 months, while others chose to keep it.
Our cancellation process is straightforward and clearly outlined on our website. Members simply need to submit a request to cancel, and our team processes it promptly. However, we never received a cancellation request from ******.
We are happy to remove her from the collection agency and resolve this matter amicably.
Thank you for your attention to this issue.
    Best regards, ******

When my husband and I joined this club, they said the charge would be $10.00 every two weeks for each of us IF WE GAVE THEM A CHECKING ACCOUNT NUMBER FOR THE PAYMENTS. We did this; however, they have been debiting our account correctly for my husband but they are taking $12.00 every two weeks for me! This is the amount they said they would charge if we used a credit card but they are taking it from my checking account. I have contacted them twice and they assured me this would be corrected "within a few days" and I should receive credit for the additional money that had been debited incorrectly. My last call was on April 19th and I spoke with ***** (MGR) at 3:10pm. ***** again assured me this would be corrected "in a few days" but I see no evidence of a correction when I look at my checking account nor have I heard anything from the business. It is a small amount but nevertheless it is INCORRECT! This needs to be corrected - it has been much longer than "a few days" and they will be taking another draw soon!
