Custom home built by Crabtree Custom Builders for an agreed contract price of $312,000. Plans were approved and signed by an Engineer in ***********, **. The contract for the house was signed and filed in January 2022. The custom home was supposed to be completed by 9/30/2022. We moved into our home on 7/22/2023. There were multiple changes to the home without homeowner approval or completion of change orders. Examples include, making this a multi-level home from our garage to living area, Relocating the **** components, well drilled in a location that interrupts the unobstructed view from the rear of our home, and failing to order factory-colored doors and windows as specified in the house plans. The roof of the home was noticed to be incorrectly installed and the homeowners notified the contractor before the completion of the roof and home. The contractor failed to address the issue and moved forward with the project. The homeowners attempted multiple times to get the roof fixed before the completion and nothing was done. The following items were eliminated from the contract and plans as agreed upon. Clear and grade building pad and driveway. Install driveway drains. Remove stumps and rough grade additional property around home as agreed upon in the ***************** colored black doors and windows. Window Tint. Using backfill from the property the homeowners had for other purposes. Flood lights missing. No waterline installed in the garage for refrigerator. Missing drainage pipes on exterior of the home. Insufficient landscaping. We have had to incur costs for grading and clearing the land in order to start the building process ($15,000). We have also had to pay $10,000 extra rent not allotted for when budget planning for the home. We had to sign another lease with the current renters in order to have a place to live while the home was being finished.
