When I hired them I put the deposit on my debit card and when I paid my balance I gave them a credit card. Not only did they charge my credit card they also used my debit and charged me again. They gave me my credit for my credit card and then raised my balance by $93.75. No one will respond to my request for my refundSmart Move, LLC

The customer's rate was $175/hour plus a $50 travel fee. The job lasted 4 hours and 15 minutes. The total is therefore $793.75. The customer has paid $793.75. The payment is correct. If you have any questions, just let me know.Review fromGail J

Smart Move DISASTROUSLY moved my belongings on 3/28/2024just about one mile. ***** ***** told me all furniture would be wrapped and protected. We walked through the house and I pointed out antiques needing gentle care as well as new furniture. I packed boxes myself and since insurance would not cover what I packed and the care promised for the furniture in mind, I did not buy insurance. Needless to say, the insurance will not replace much at .60$ or 4.00$ per pound. The movers did not use dollys but manhandled and damaged a great portion of new and heirloom antique pieces. There are gouges in mahogany table top and a broken off leg. There are scrapes down to wood on 2020 ***** Bahama bed, dresser, rattan ends of couch. Many other scrapes on multiple pieces, some in multiple places.Even a stainless steel table was broken when it could be disassemble!***** ***** has been less than disengeuous about this issue. He said he would check video in truck but never got back on that . Instead he sent a co worker who admitted the job was beyond him and he referred to a craftsman . Over the last 6 months, the craftsman has visited to assess and he is the only one returning calls. MrCapps has someone answer his phone saying he is in meeting but Mr. ***** never calls back. His associate will only text and ask me for estimate on the couch which was 5,000$ approximately, because craftsman cannot repair. Weeks later associate text me they would pay $72.00 for couch. I know from craftsman that table will cost $350.00 to repair but the company will only pay for touchups @500.00$ directly to craftsman which excludes the table.***** ***** sat for an hour selling me all the care that would be given. This is the most atrocious job Ive ever seen and I moved interstate twice in 2020 and 2023. . ***** ***** provided my out of state mover with guys to unload so I thought he was reliable. He is not reliable or polite. His company dropped the ball and now is cowardly hiding.Smart Move, LLC

On the day of Ms. **** ******** move, there was heavy rain, and we recommended rescheduling to the following day for safety and logistical reasons. However, Ms. ****** was confident that the weather would clear in the afternoon and requested we proceed as planned. While we typically avoid starting larger moves in the afternoon, we accommodated her request.
Despite the continued rain throughout the rest of the day, we moved forward as she preferred. Prior to the move, we offered Ms. ****** the option to purchase full value protection on two occasions, which she declined. After the move was complete, she inquired about purchasing full value protection, but we explained that it must be secured prior to the move.
Additionally, to protect the floors inside her home, we adhered to our policy of not using dollies indoors. Ultimately, Ms. ****** chose the basic value protection plan, and we will proceed based on her selection. Moving forward, we have learned the importance of sticking to our professional recommendations regarding weather and timing to ensure the best possible outcome for our clients.Review fromCaleb E

The way the team loaded our truck caused a lot of damage. I have moved several times and have never had that much damage to my stuff. It was because they ignored labels on boxes for fragile or heavy things, and stacked things where many boxes fell or were crushed. Also, a lot of our furniture was damaged because of how it was loaded. The team arrived late as well.Smart Move, LLC

2 starsOn moving day (8/1/23), a couple of workers were carrying a wooden cadenza into our new residence, when another worker on your moving team stopped the two workers and said, 'I got this,' and when the third worker, by himself, put the furniture down on the wooden floor the cadenza's right door cracked of the hinges. After another worker look photos of the damage, the driver handed a pink copy of the Uniform Household Goods Bill of Lading form NCLIC# C-****, and said, 'someone will be back here in a couple of business days to weigh the damaged property.' On Tuesday 9/19/23 between 2-3 p.m. **** the manager examined the damaged cadenza, took photos, and promised to credit my credit card for $125.00 in a couple of business days. He also said he knew someone named ******, who may be able to repair the damaged cadenza. On Wednesday 10/16/23, I called SMART MOVE and spoke to **** the manage and informed him that I spoke to my Mastercard customer service representative and asked if the $125.00 credit from SMART MOVE was applied to my credit card and the customer service representative said, NO, on both 10/13/23 and 10/16/23. **** told me earlier it would take a couple of business days, to this day (1/31/24) he has NOT followed through on his WORD(s)/promise and that's NOT doing right by the paying customer(s)..Review fromKim B.

1 starDo NOT use these movers. They showed up late the day of packing my ****** NC home. They only sent 2 guys and they were already exhausted. They packed everything up and moved my stuff to ******* PA. They did not show up at the time they were to be there, were several hours late, and then wanted to come unload after 7 at night. I asked they wait until the next day. Several pieces of my antique furniture was scratched/damaged/and broke. One piece a very intricate scroll was broke off (who knows where that got to) and it will cost over $1000 to have an antique restorer fix it. Also, when taking my washer/dryer combination into the basement, they almost tore the lighting out, and now I have numerous scratches/dents on a brand new washer/dryer unit. I did contact the office, several times, was told I would get a call back, and you guessed it, never did. Finally last week talked to ***** in Corporate (not sure hes really at corporate) He stated he would call me back on Saturday, and 2 Saturdays went by with no call. Called him again, and he apologized profusely. Big deal! He said he would talk to higher ups (thought he was corporate????) and get back to me. He called me back and insulted me by offering me $200 for all the damage. I'm still unloading boxes and finding broken antique china/glass. I told him getting the one piece repaired would be at least $1000, so I would settle for $1500. He stated he could not offer more than $300. He finally went to $800. but would not go a cent higher. I paid $4000 for the move and gave each guy (2 of them) a $60 cash tip. DO NOT USE THIS MOVER. GUYS ARE NOT TRAINED ADEQUATELY, AND IF THEY DO BREAK SOMETHING, THEY DEFINITELY WILL NOT TRY TO MAKE IT RIGHT! ***** in Corporate is a jerk! I did submit photos, actually several times, because they kept saying they did not get them!
