    I am adding another review to ************'s that strongly indicates that ******* Plumbing (PP) is bad news. We signed a contract to expand our shower floor but the costs were not itemized, just listed with the total of $3,674.49. After the first day, the plumber realized that he didn't have to break and repour concrete and we asked to have the contract adjusted to remove those costs. In short, PP refused and threatened us with a lawsuit for breach of contract. They then tried to strongarm their way way back into our house to fix problems with the shower floor that did not exist: We knew this from the Johnston County inspector who told my fiance that the shower floor passed, which was corroborated in his report that we obtained even after PP pulled the permit. After their disrespectful, unprincipled and unscrupulous behavior, we insisted on receiving an invoice of costs of the work actually done to pay them and bid them farewell. We didn't want them back in our house. They continued to refuse. Eventually, they engaged the law firm they have on retainer and sued us not only for the full amount of the contract, interest, and their legal fees, they placed a lien on our house. All that rather than provide an itemized invoice and attempt to come to an understanding with a customer. We had emails, photos, and even a text from the plumber who said he left their employ because they made his life difficult by not unnecessarily breaking and pouring concrete. With all that, we were prepared to go to small claims court with truth and evidence on our side. Unfortunately, the lawyer filed in District Court. We were not able to engage a lawyer of our own because it would cost more than what we were being sued for and we couldn't countersue for their fees. We had to settle and it was a galling experience. I don't think how this played out was an accident. It seemed like a very well-orchestrated practice by Poole's Plumbing and their legal team. Beware of hiring this adversarial company!
