Last year, I paid ***** at the Fence Yard a deposit of $2,000 to install a fence around my property. He has been giving us excuse after excuse for the past 8 months, refusing to complete the work or refund our deposits. As of March 2025, he had only installed a small portion of the fence before disappearing and refusing to respond to calls and emails.Business Response

Let's start with the truth.Your project is shared with 1 other person who refuses to sign a change order for items you requested. You along with 2 other homeowners asked for a different material than what was in the original agreement. We was charging 200 extra vs the 600 extra it cost us. You requested your property pins to be found and we did fine them. Was a charge or 100 instead of the 600 to 700 they would of charged you each. We also stated we would not install the bolted slope gates due to the poor quality they are. Instead we wanted to do welded gates at an extra 100 each for 200.00We will not install the bolted gates,
Change order is for 500 dollars and you and the other 2 guys refuse to sign anything. You stated finish the work then we discuss changes.Your project is 205 feet we installed 65 feet more than a small amount. So is it a lie regarding the amount of fence installed. You stated small section. 65 ft at 25 each ft comes to 1625 the extra 200 for difference in material and 100 for pins that's 1925 before discounts which won't be applied until done since it's a full project discount. You gave ******* so we will be glad to give you 75 dollars. No discount will apply since you are reason project not finishWe have not refuse to finish project you have refused to sign change order. You have 5 business days to sign change order or we will cancel project.Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because:Telling lies and arguing with you is not my job. Examine the history of complaints received from clients or stakeholders.
You signed the project last year. After multiple excuses, you began the work and agreed to the substantial adjustment at no expense.
Until December, you did not show up, and when we issued a compliance warning to the police, you returned with a different story and demanded an additional $100.
Whatever work you did, it's not even 30% work, and the panels are not aligned properly. I did not agree with this math.
According to our previous agreement, you must finish the remaining work this week at an additional cost of approximately $200. if you fail to comply. We will have to inform the appropriate authorities about this issue.I have attached the photo of the work done in my backyard. He claimed he completed half of the work, but this shows how he actually finished the job.

I am rejecting this response because:
The truth is: we agreed to pay you the additional $200 on December 20th per documented email attached to this response. The work needed to be completed by January 20th but we kept receiving excuses after excuses. The work that was done in my property is not acceptable, the back fence is loose and not attached to the ground. The agreement was for the entire fence to be installed by July 2024 not a partial, and here we are almost 9 months later with no resolution. Unfortunately, this business waisted our time, took our money and now blaming us for the work not being completed. This is unacceptable and we need resolution as soon as possible!Business Response

We are sorry for any misunderstanding you may of had. However, your project would of been done at that time line if you would of signed a change order. When you state to a company that you will talk about pricing after job that means you will not pay the difference.
We stated a dozen times regarding the pins and the gates that will be an extra charge. We didn't have to eat the extra 400 dollars it was cost us to buy the other materials. You and other homeowners changed the materials.
We will not install the bolted gates due to the poor quality. Either the welded gates on slope or no gates at that area which will reflect in discount
Like we stated no money is owed to you.
65ft along right side and 65ft in back.
Your bill is over your deposit
what is so hard to sign a change order unless you dont want to pay someone
If you dont want the welded gates we can take those two gates off. Which having someone else come out to put those bolted gates will cost you more.
You will be paying for us finding the pins. No question about that. It was outside the agreement
5 days to sign change order
you are the reason this project is not finish

I am rejecting this response because:
unfortunately your response is just another example of what we have experienced in the past 9 months. We have proof of all detailed communications with your business. You took our money, waisted our time and now you refuse to complete the work.your options:
1) Finish the work no later than 03/21
2) All homeowners with pending work will submit the issue to the appropriate authorities.

You are the reason this project is not finish. You dont want to sign a change order because you dont want to be obligated to pay anything extra.
Im not holding up anything. I told you and your neighbor we would cancel your project if a change order is not done you have known about this since we did your neighbors project because you didn't agree to the pin cost or gate price.
we are not holding up anything
I dont have your funds. You gave a deposit of 2200 ft correct.
65 feet between you and your neighbor is installed correct? Is that true ( split )
The back part of your fence is installed for another 65 ft.
At 25 per ft which is what is in the agreement correct
2437.00 is that price
100 finding the pins
130 for extra cost of aluminum
2667.50
Before discounts
500 was given as a discount if done together. You won't get 500 because full project wasnt done.
250 off
2667.50
2417.50
Is still more then you have given
Sign the change order and project could be finish. We are not trying to hold up your project you are because you dont want to be obligated for any changes
Not sure how much money you think is owed. However math doesn't lie

I am rejecting this response becauseunfortunately, going back and forth with you is such a waste of time and energy. We have concrete evidence what the agreement was. The pictures attached to this message can show the quality of work your company is providing to paying customers after 9 months of games and excuses. We will let the judge decide on this matter!!!!!

On or about April 15, 2024, ************************ promised to build a fence around our backyard. We paid him a deposit of $6000.00. To date he has done no work. We have tried without success to get a refund of our deposit. ************** agrees that he owes us a refund, but after numerous conversations in which he offered excuse after excuse he has failed to give us a refund. Additionally, he dropped a pallet of cement in our backyard which he keeps saying he will remove but has not done so.We notice he has engaged in the same scam with at least two other parties.Business Response

***************************
We had a company to install the fence is reason the concrete was delivered. The company never installed the fence so we told *************************** that we would install the fence. He then said he didn't want us to install the fence. We had already purchased the lights for each post and built the fence. His fence had to be built a different way due to a wire for the lights to be ran.
We have no problem removing the concrete. However we had to return the lights which cost us 20% for restocking not counting the wasted time building his fence differently
We sell fence material he knew that we only have so many days a week we could install the fence. That's the reason we sub out the project
We will refund deposit plus remove concrete

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my complaint, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. However, the business has made so many unfulfilled promises that I have trouble believing him this time and reserve my right to amend my complaint
Thank you.******************************

I hired ***** at The Fence Yard to install fencing around my 15 acre property. Based on his quote, I gave him a deposit of $17,000 on Feb 01, 2024. He said he would order the vinyl fence immediately and that would take up to 6 weeks for delivery but would start delivering wood posts the next day. He kept having reasons for delays including trying to get me to change the product while still saying it was ordered and paid for. In March, I reached out to the fencing manufacturer to check on my order. They said they had no order for my fencing. ***** continued to claim it was ordered and paid for. Still no product or work done on my project and so on Mar 19 I started asking for my money back. He came on March 22, but only measured a some of my property lines. Not sure how the fence was ordered if he didn't have a measurement. I continued to ask for my refund and at one point he said he couldn't get to his bank but could transfer it to me via Zelle. So I set that up only to find out he only sent $1000, stating the they were limiting him. He would get the limit raised which he didn't do and then He said he would mail the rest in a check and kept telling me it was in the mail. He is not denying that he owes me the refund, just isn't sending it.
