  if you use Gaston Roofing, be aware of their rotten wood policy. they told me they removed 20 pieces of rotten wood from my house. l took a picture of there trailer and there was no rotten wood just shingels. when l asked what **** was replaced they told me they were 1x6x12, these boards you can get from ****** for 5.49 to 7.98 depending on the grade, they charged me ***** per piece. l know all companies have markups on their materials, this is just gouging the customer, l would not recommend this ******************** Company to anyone.

  I have attached the signed quote stating wood repairs done during the roof would be an additional charge. The customer claims that a 12' 1x6 from Lowes is around $7 which is false. I have also attached a photo showing our local Gastonia Lowes selling the wood that was used at $14.98 per 12' board. There are also labor and deposal costs involved in our price for the wood replacement. All roofing work was completed as agreed, the customer is disputing the wood charges of $1,080. He has already paid us $19,450 and has told us he would send a check for the remaining balance of $1,080. We have explained to him several times about the wood and how much was used. The wood that was in the trailer ended up on the bottom under the shingles. The wood was removed from the roof last making it the first to go into the trailer as it was being picked up from the ground. A small portion of the wood costs were used to patch holes in the roof where obsolete vents were covered over as the ridge allows heat to vent. The type of vents that were previously on the roof are not compatible with a metal roof.
