A Sharpe Bros ********************* truck broke my windshield on the highway. I saw the rock hit and I recorded the vehicle license plate. When I called their office, leadership was defensive and unfriendly. Now after a severe rock strike (and a scary road experience) my glass isn't ***airable and I'm stuck having to pay out of pocket for their negligence so I can pass my state car inspection next month. I'm not filing a claim on my insurance. They made no attempt to resolve the small $250 claim but instead chose to "lawyer up" and look for a way out. These small acts speak volumes about the integrity of Sharpe Bros, their mother company Vecellio & Grogan, and their officers/leadership.1) Why not do a better job ensuring vehicles have no loose debris before road travel? Too much trouble to be safe? This is state ****** a 360-walk before getting in your vehicle. I guess highway safety is not a priority for Sharpe Bros. 2) The manager and safety *** only spoke in terms of liability, money. There was never a mention of my safety; no talk of using better safety measures in the future.3) Why not just have accountability for your team's actions and be a responsible community member? 4) Battling this small matter only ensures a hit to your ***utation, which demonstrates a lack of business acumen. 4) You were caught in the act, and your response is that your work truck has never seen a worksite or a stone? Right. You are a grading company. This was a real incident. Unlike Sharpe, I am a safe driver with over 1M miles road experience. I've traveled this roadway 200k miles without stone strikes until encountering your truck.5) Clearly, your real culture doesn't match your claims. In 2009, the CEO stated on their website, "Results Prove Job Site Quality, Safety and Efficiency Are Worth Doing Right". I agree with him. So follow your own stated principles. Have a response to this that proves you are a safe company and a good community member.
