    I made a purchase through sherilltree which must be a sister company of vertical supply group. March 11th 2023. On their website they took my card information and said it would be a week before it arrived. The money was taken from my account within the hour and 2 days later I sent an email asking when they could send me a status on my package. The email they sent back basically told me the item I order isn't even in stock and they would let me know when it is. Their website never mentioned it being out of stock and when I asked for compensation for wasting my time they ignored the email. I'm currently wondering if I'll even get my package or a refund. I could have got the item off a different site for a few dollars more and had it here within the week. Just seems like a very shady way to do business and I'm hoping the company will be investigated before they end up wasting more people's time. I needed this item for a job I'm doing and now I'm down $90 and have to order through a completely different website so I can get it on time. I would have never made the purchase if I knew they were selling items they didn't even have.

    I just received a complaint from you dated 3/14/23, so wanted to respond as quickly as possible.  I’ve reviewed the account for ***** ****** and have discovered that the order they placed was canceled on 3/14.  The charge the customer alludes to in the complaint was a pre-authorization to ensure funds were available on their credit card, a common e-commerce practice, and not a hard charge deducting funds from their account.  We explained to the customer that it could take 24-48 hours for their bank to release the hold.  This was all done on the same day the customer contacted you, so it appears they were unwilling to wait to see if the authorization was removed.

     

    At this point, I do not see where the customer is owed any refund as they’ve never been charged for the item.
