  Coastland construction is lacking in integrity and competence to complete renovation projects in a timely and proficient manner. We contracted with Coastland Construction to do a porch renovation with a specified completion timeframe of 4 weeks. At 16 weeks from beginning the project and 30 weeks from the initial deposit, the project was still incomplete, my yard was a disaster, and several thousands of dollars of damages had been done to my property. With each delay ******* would offer up some sort of excuse but the reality is that the delays and damages were caused by either poor planning, incompetence, or his other jobs being given priority. Our project with Coastland Construction has been the most disappointing renovation project we have ever experienced.

  Exceeding expectations is the fundamental goal we strive to accomplish with every new customer we interact. Unfortunately, we cannot overstress the importance to any customer engaging in construction activities on their property to thoroughly read and review the construction contract presented to them prior to entering into an agreement. A project of any magnitude on an active residence is a crucial partnership and a contract, which should always include a scope of work, clearly outlines the responsibilities of each party. At Coastland, we work day and night to provide as a resource for our customers, in most cases well beyond the scope of our contracts. From time to time, elements beyond any of our control will arise, especially during a major site demolition and reconstruction project (not renovation). We will always go the extra mile, whether it’s recognized and appreciated or not. As a professional organization with a dedicated focus of exceeding expectations, extra miles are a daily occurrence but there is a realistic point where we must not compromise our responsibility to our employees, our policies, our contractual integrity or our other customers to subsidize elements beyond the scope on another.
  
  It is deeply regrettable this review is an experience that exists with one of our customers, as I am certain it is one that exists in this industry more often than we realize. It is my hope this encounter provides as a future resource for anyone, not just our customers, planning a major construction project at their residence to thoroughly and realistically consider all factors in such an undertaking. Here at Coastland, we are committed to always “Do the Right Thing” and exceeding expectations is a natural byproduct of that commitment. Our contracts, on the other hand, are our first step in managing those expectations.
