I spent 11 and a half days with my helper working here and now I am sharing my experience working as a subcontractor for Apex Conversions. This should be considered a warning for future subcontractors, employees, clients, lenders, ect.1) Currently, **** owes me money for labor provided that he has not aknowledged or addressed when or how payment will be remitted.2) Overpromising and Underdelivering seems to be a common theme at Apex Conversions.3) The "Nice Guy" facade that he wears seems real, but if you watch his actions and behavior under pressure this "man" will crumble and the real colors bleed through.4) The way business is conducted here is mind boggling, and to be fair I should have paid attention to all of the red flags in terms of the way this company runs, the unrealistic deadlines promised, and how customer's funds are managed. If I did just a basic ****** search, I could have been better informed and walked away before wasting my time here.5) Our last (1/2 day) was the straw that broke the camel's back. **** had the audacity to gossip and talk trash about me behind my back to MY HELPER that I BROUGHT, while I was out for lunch. When I arrived back from my lunch, he 180'd and put on the nice guy fake smile to get my help compiling a materials list (that wed been waiting on) to finish a build that was due on Saturday and this was now Thursday. After he left, my helper informed me of what had happened so we promptly packed our tools and left. When confronted about it, **** held 0 accountability for his actions. He proceeded to lie/make up stories, and continues to do so.I sincerely wish good luck to everyone who currently has an open build with him, you'll need it. And to anyone considering working with him, think twice and do your due diligence before you decide who you get involved with because youll probably end up like us and many others on the long list of victims who've fallen prey to this scam he's running.

**** ***** and Apex Conversions does not pay their contractors or employees. I have been waiting since June for another payment for unpaid labor . I have messages them called them and emailed them but it has been radio silence since the 11 of June . This has put me in a very uncomfortable financial situation. I want people to be aware that if you work for them be prepared to wait and wait and wait to get paid. While writing this review Apex Conversion sent me a message saying they will pay me in October. I guess we will wait ,wait, wait, and see.

Owner is hostile and spreads false information about competitors with false claims about recalls and product failures. Scares potential customers into thinking his product is quality, when he really uses left over wood from other products as well as products that aren't designed to be used for a camper which causes safety concerns.

      Facts:
Timing- I questioned Gary about his contract stating how he could change the date at any time. He replied, "the only reason the build would be late was for medical issues. It was over a month late.
Quality- Wiring is house Romex and shouldn't be sold wiring (known fact within ANY van group). Exposed wiring throughout the van. Windows were installed so bad that he had to go to the hardware store to get longer screws. Scratches all over the windows from the install. Solar panel flew off the van while driving down the road after picking up the van. Overspray everywhere in the van because he failed to properly prep. No wire loom used anywhere in the van. Supplied me with a worthless absorption fridge that pulls 90watts.
Build- Failed to supply me with interior specs and only did so after 3 requests. He found random cabinet makers to do the interior that had never worked on a van before... ever. Under oath, the cabinet guys admitted to the judge that Gary gave him the interior build directions with NO MEASUREMENTS. Gary stated the bed would be 70+" inches wide and he made the bed 64" wide. His guys were unable to install a simple diesel heater in the truck and explained how a Heater Buddy would be sufficient. The bench seat that his residential kitchen cabinet makers made was 13" wide.
Gary admitted via text, "this is the wrong van for the space and items you want" after 5+ months. The statement alone tells you that Gary was not qualified to build out the interior of my van. The van was completed by a professional shop with YEARS of experience and installed everything that Gary said wasn't able to be done.
I wouldn't let Gary build me a bird house, let alone something that required skill.
I took Gary to small claims court and won. Of course, Gary appealed the decision. Gary and Gary's lawyer met with the arbitrator without both parties present. A new arbitrator should have been app to the case but didn't happen in the county's kangaroo court.
