Washed out Drainage Ditch Repairs: **** promised a perfect solution to our rain washed out drainage ditch. Promises, promises - then with first heavy rainfall we found huge hollows under the boulders where the rainwater washed under and outside the ditch. We called for corrections and the answer was "We don't warranty our work!" We are in our 70's and must make corrections to his $17K repairs of the ditch. With each heavy rain we discover more blow outs of water with large holes galore under every large boulder. Not what we consider to be a reputable contractor. Too bad negative stars are not an option.

*** and Mrs. ****** Ducker Land Management did your job the first week of January 2025. It has been 7 months. We did a quality job that was accomplished in a timely manner using quality materials. During the project you and your wife verbal yelled at our crew and was very disrespectful to our crew. We have never been treated this way by any past customer. You were told from the beginning of the project that the storm water control ditch was going to be built as is and with no guarantees due to the fact that the job was not engineered. Mrs. ***** said that she was an engineer which we found out later that was false. We cannot guarantee storm water ditches due to the fact that we cannot control the weather. *** and Mrs. ***** you approved the completion of the project and paid your invoice in full. There is and was no contract between Ducker Land Management and the Hafers. Ducker Land Management will not recommend any contractor to work for the Hafers in the future.

Your reponse is highly inappropriate. Please be careful about calling us liars. We signed the agreement with you on August 13, 2024. Before we signed the agreement we showed you a video of the water flow in our ditch during a 3 to 4 inch rainfall in July 2024. You told us the work would be done in October, 2024. We discussed banking the turn where the water breached the ditch in July 2024. We requested large boulders in that location and along the entire ditch to improve the asthetics of this prominant feature in our yard. You assured us you could improve the ditch to handle heavy rainfalls and included boulders in your quote. You even sent a photo of another stream you'd done so we could see what to expect. You postponed the work several times telling us you were working for *****. Later your staff told us were not working for ***** but had higher priority customers after the hurricane. You finally started the work January 6 to 15, 2025. I admit, i did get upset when your equipment was driven over and tore up my finished lawn and told them it was unacceptable. During this time it snowed, the ground was frozen and your team was freezing. They dug the trench deeper in places and widened it. They created basins to slow the water down. We were not told they were finished until the end of the day on the 15th. They spread straw, mulch, and netting for erosion control on all the bare dirt. It was dusk with minimal visibility. We could not see the hidden problems covered up. We paid you in full that day. After the first heavy rainfall on February 12 and 13 and I called you and told you about the breaches. We had washout thru large hidden holes under the boulders. The water washed more mud out and made them larger. I called you and you said you would charge me to come out and look at and fix the problems. You said you don't guarantee your work. Since then we filled as many holes as we could get to with more rip-rap. With the most recent rainfall of 2.75" the water l washed out in other locations, including one that directed the flow over our septic tank. So who is misstating the truth? ***, my wife is a mechanical engineer and never claimed to be a ditch designer. We trusted you knew what you were doing because of your claims.

To further clarify my response, this was not a guarantee or warranty issue. The voids under the boulders and rocks are the result of poor workmanship and defined as a latent defect. They were not visible when you completed the work so there was no way to know there was a problem until the first heavy rain which occurred in February, 2025. After much thought about what to do, I called you on March 16 and you returned my call on March 17. Before you actually saw the problem, you got angry and told me you would charge me to make any corrections. We've waited 4 months, giving you time to reconsider and be helpful. During that time we've filled in some of the holes with rip-rap, but found more with the July 9, 2025, 2.75" rainfall. The boulders have all stayed in place which is a good thing. However, we paid to have a channel built to handle heavy rains and got a sieve.

I had Ducker Land Management complete an elevated driveway parking area with boulders to create a level parking area off my driveway. They were professional, responsive, listened to what I wanted the final project to be. They were on time, completed the project in one day and left the job site clean. I would highly recommend.
