    My SunPro Retractable Awning was installed 8/9/23 by 2 Smart Repairs employees, paid total of $6,848, it has a 10 year warranty, which must be honored by dealer/installer (Smart Repairs). It was damaged on 9/27/24 when a gust of wind activated the wind sensor and deployed it from its housing the full length, 12' x 21'. I called Smart Repairs a few hours later to report the need for repairs and to ask why did it deploy when it was stored in it's housing, message was taken by answering service. I called a total of 3 times over the next few weeks, answering service always took message. I was told someone with the company was picking up messages. I also contacted SunPro in ********* FL who makes the awnings where ***** (Smart Repairs) is one of their dealers. Smart Repairs website has the BBB emblem and claims they are accredited, but now I find that is not true. Another dealer can make repairs for me, but I will have to pay to replace the 2 damaged arm. As a warranty item I should not have to pay, but I cannot get Smart Repairs to return my phone calls. I spoke with a dealer in ** who happened to be teaching a class at the ****** plant in ** on 9/11/24. He told me my awning deploying from a gust of wind should never have happened, that it was installed wrong. To my knowledge, the 2 arms are broken, the front bar has damage but can be used (I have been told), the sunbrella material appears to be OK. Until I can start using it, I don't know if there is further damage. I'm requesting the 2 arms be replaced and the awning work again, as it should.Another phone number to reach ***** with Smart Repairs is ************.

    Spoke with ****** ******** about the hurricane damage to her awning. Ms ******** is reaching out to us to get help ***airing her awning. Her complaint is that ****** is not sending her parts and needed help once parts are received to ***lace broken parts. The complaint  is not against Smart Repairs but against manufacturer not sending her parts. She said her awning went out by itself in the storm and was heavliy damage, has called Sunpro a dozen times and does not get calls back and the one time she did the *** *** hung up. We think we hav her on track that to get her awning up and running would be to purchase the parts she needs and have us do the work.  Hopefully she will get the parts and we can help get her awning back up and running before summer time.

    I am rejecting this response because:  I have not spoken to Smart Repairs.  No one claiming to be from that company has contacted me.  Further, this response claims I'm in process of dealing with SunPro, to which again is not true, they do not choose to speak with me regarding my awning problems either.  The majority of this response is simply not true, and it sounds like someone from Smart Repairs is trying to place responsibility on ****** who manufactures the awning.  Maybe this Dealer needs to talk with  the manufacturer (******) to find a solution, and stop making up stories.  But, I do hope they want to hear from me first, to find out what actually happened, before making assumptions.

    We stand by our original response. We installed awning about two years ago and have not been back to this customer's house since. Ms. ******** needs to address wind sensor issue with manufacturer.
