    I signed a contract with ****** ***** of Carolina Craftman on 1/15/25 to tear down an old deck on our house and replace with a new one out of the same wood species - Cedar. I paid him a $15,000.00 deposit using my Citibank credit card the next day, on 1/16/25. ****** had worked on a small job for me last year and did a good job for me so I went into this contract fairly comfortable. We agreed when I paid the deposit that the work would take 2 weeks and would start on 2/3. Everything up until this point seemed great. It has been fairly painful after that. The work did not start on 2/3. Carolina Craftsman struggled with vehicle trouble, sickness, helper vacancies, weather, other jobs, material order issues, and lately administrative issues. We are now 12 weeks into the 2 week job and they have only completed the tear down portion of the project which is listed as a line item on the quote for $1,250.00. The latest drama that had me most concerned is that even though ****** reported that the material had been ordered he will not give me any sort of receipt/documentation to confirm this. The latest reason that he could not provide a receipt was administrative things 7 weeks after start date I filed a dispute with my *********** From that point on ****** has gone quiet. He has not responded to any of my contacts or to the ** company's request for information.
