I drop my 2013 ***** Impala off at Beamer Tire because my check engine light was on 9/7/2024 to get a check engine light on diagnosis. On 9/11/2024 I received email of the diagnosis and the cost to repair which was $1741.43 which included the $100 diagnostic fee. I requested for a copy of the diagnostic report that list the codes. I was told that the Repair Order #***** that I received by email was the results of the diagnostic test. I went to pick up my vehicle on 10/4/2024 because the parts were high. One part in Question was the Fuel Pump cost of $809.54. I requested the model number and when I called NAPA Auto Parts, they gave me a cost for that model number of $509. I called back and let them know that what they quoted me was higher. On 10/4/2024 I paid the $107 diagnostic fee but decided to allow them to repair the car before removing it from their possession. I was told that the $107 diagnostic fee would be deducted from the cost. I went to pick up my car on 11/29/2024 I went to pick up my vehicle and in reviewing the invoice there was a $50 Diagnostic fee on there. They gave me a credit for $50 after I had just paid the $1708.82. In comparing the repair order #***** and the invoice #***** there are items listed on the invoice that I was charged for that was not on the repair order. The bill decreased by $33 but there are things added on the invoice that was not on the authorized repair quote. On 12/4/2024 my check engine light came back on in less than one week. Now I have to take it to another mechanic to get a diagnostic and pay. I am requesting a refund for services completed on my car that I did not authorize. I am requested the original diagnostic test that list the codes to compare to when I take it to the shop of my choosing to get an updated diagnostic.

      Business Response

      Date: 12/19/2024

We stand behind all repairs that were performed and they are covered under warranty for 2yrs or ****** miles minimum. If the parts are defective then they will be replaced at no cost to the customer. We communicated all information to the customer as needed. We did extra work that was not charged to insure the vehicle would start. This was discovered while it stayed at our store for almost 3 months with no storage fees charged. Saving the customer hundreds of dollars. The final bill total was less than what had originally been estimated and agreed upon by the customer. We are very surprised that after all we did, and many things at no charge, that this customer did not feel we were trying to look out for her best interest. We also offered to recheck the vehicle at no charge and cover with the customer. Because this vehicle has a history of not being driven much there are sometimes many layers that contribute to the problems that can take multiple visits.

      Customer Answer

      Date: 12/21/2024

I am rejecting this response for the following reasons:
Inspection Timeline: My car did pass inspection the next day, which was a Saturday. However, the check engine light came on the following Thursday.
Gas Pumping Issue: After the replacement of the fuel pump, I began experiencing problems when pumping gas. The gas pump shuts off, and I have been informed this issue is due to air coming up out of the line. This problem did not exist prior to the fuel pump replacement.
Vehicle Stay at the Shop: The matter of my car sitting at your shop was addressed and agreed upon separately. It is unrelated to the additional items listed on my invoice.
Invoice Discrepancy: The final invoice I paid does not reflect what I was provided and approved for repair. While the original repair order was provided, the final invoice lacks clarity regarding charges and services rendered.
      Request for Clarification:
      Please explain the following:
The discrepancies between the original repair order and the final invoice.
The charges on the invoice and how they correspond to the agreed-upon repairs.
I would appreciate a detailed breakdown to resolve this matter.
