    Business Response

************ dropped of the 2004 Jeep and stated it had a lifter issue and wanted a price on replacing the lifters. A price was given and authorization and deposited occurred. Once the Technician pulled the manifold and removed the engine was completely containment with engine oil & carbon deposit build up. The worst we have ever seen before. ************ was made aware of the interior condition of the engine and was told he may have a bigger issue than just lifter noise. ************ picked up the vehicle and drover it and then returned to ** with a lifter noise. The technician then dropped the engine oil pan and noted that the engine oil pump was no good and that resulted into further damage than initially noted. He was not charged for the second diagnostic time. He was told he would have to pay for the engine oil pump and we would not charge him labor given the situation was more than he could afford to do. After changing the oil pump we warranty all the lifters and installed new camshaft, pushrod, and timing chain at NO CHARGE to ************. So, after we spent an extra $520.00 on parts not to mention the FREE labor of 7 hours we do not feel like any refund is due. We told ************ he should probably consult with whoever sold him this Jeep knowing it had major issues. The invoices are attached for proof of what we changed at no charge.

I am rejecting this response because:

That is not the way it happened he told me it was a lifter and after he changed them he said to drive the truck about 1500 miles and the ticking should stop we drove it about 15 miles and noise got worse and the check engine light came on and I took the truck back to him and he said the oil pump was too weak and it could not support the new lifters and that I would need to pay for the oil pump an the lifters and labor was under warranty and when I went to pick up  the truck the second time it was ticking even louder and he said he has done all he could and that the truck had 22m miles on it and that he was done with it
