I hired wix media group to build my website: www.*****************.com The website looks nice, but an SEO audit scored poorly from a couple 3rd party companies and also from an audit done by google. There was no content, keywords, etc. A couple weeks passed by and I didn't hear from them except they would send me emails about SEO consulations. I had to go in and do the basics with SEO myself and connect the site to google. I finally responded to wix media groups email about SEO consulation saying I don't want to spend anymore money with them since my website cost $2500. I provided them with all information added to the website and they didn't create pictures they just added existing pictures. So Chris who is the CEO at wix media group calls me and said he will do the SEO work and told me I had already paid for it and was part of the $500. This conversation was unknowingly reordered from my home camera set up in my house. I had Chris on speaker phone saying I paid $500 already for the SEO work. I told him what I had done so far and Chris and I even told Chris what issues I had been experiencing with SEO and shared some of the SEO reports. I understood he would work on correcting things. I gave him rights to my website and he gave his employees access to make changes to my website. A week passes and nothing was done. In fact, they made changes causing things to be worse and go backwards. I attempted to understand why his communication was poor, questions were not asked about who my competitors are and more. Important things were missed, and he was defensive and argumentative with me. I fired him and his team and asked for a $500 refund since he didn't do any SEO work and didn't care to correct any of my issues relating to SEO. He refuses to give a refund and encourages me to sue him. I DO NOT RECOMMEND USING THIS GUY OR HIS COMPANY. Very unprofessional to and scammers in my opinion.

      **** ******,

I hope this message finds you well. I want to address your recent review and concerns directly to ensure there’s no misunderstanding about our services and interaction.

      1. **Website Satisfaction**: We're glad you were initially pleased with the website we built for you at $2,500. Your positive feedback was much appreciated, and we were happy to know the site met your expectations.

      2. **SEO Services Misunderstanding**: It seems there's been some confusion about the SEO services. I want to clarify that the SEO work we did was a free addition to the website design package. This included basic on-page SEO to get your site recognized and indexed by Google. It's important to note that comprehensive SEO, which might involve backlinks and more in-depth strategies, was not part of the package you paid for.

      3. **Recorded Conversation Clarification**: Regarding the recorded conversation, there seems to be a miscommunication. It was actually us who provided the recorded call to clarify what was included in your package. During the very beginning of that call, I mentioned i was calling to let you know that you still had 500 worth of free SEO services available to use as part of your website design package. We do this for all of our clients as a courtesy to their website is properly linked to Google.
      4. **Rapid SEO Results Expectation**: SEO improvements take time and consistent effort. It’s unrealistic to expect immediate ranking changes, especially just days after implementation. Your expectation of outranking competitors within such a short timeframe is not aligned with standard SEO practices and outcomes.

      5. **Communication and Changes Made**: After granting us rights to make changes to your website, we aimed to improve your SEO setup within the scope of our complimentary service. SEO is complex, and sometimes initial changes don't produce immediate visible results or may require further adjustments, which is normal in SEO work.

      6. **Refund Request**: Since the SEO services were provided as a free addition to the web design package and considering there was no separate charge for SEO work, there is no basis for a refund on these services.

      7. **Professionalism and Mischaracterization**: Your accusations of unprofessionalism and labeling us as scammers are unfounded and mischaracterize our efforts to assist you beyond the agreed services. We’ve strived to maintain professional and constructive communication throughout. When you took ownership of the site you signed a contract saying you loved the work and left us a raving review online.

      8. **Cease and Desist & Further Communication**: After receiving your cease and desist notice yesterday after we provided you the recording of our call, we respected your request and ceased all direct communication. However, we have received an additional 3-4 emails from you.

Our goal at Wix Media Group is to provide quality service and support to our clients. We take your feedback seriously and are always looking for ways to improve. If you wish to discuss this matter further, please feel free to reach out.

      Final Notes:

In response to the claims made, it's important to clarify the sequence of events and the nature of the services provided. Contrary to the claim of being "fired," WE have maintained a continuous professional relationship, highlighted by your taking ownership of the website, expressing satisfaction with its design through a positive online review. Regarding the request for a $500 refund, it's critical to note that this amount was never paid specifically for SEO services, as the SEO work was included as a free addition to the website design package. Hence, a refund for services not contracted or paid for separately is not applicable. Moreover, the communication received from you, unfortunately, included demands with inappropriate language and threats of legal action, which prompted a firm but necessary response from us. Our encouragement for you to pursue legal recourse was not out of defiance but a stance against being unjustly strong-armed, especially after providing evidence of our agreement and the quality of work delivered, as well as the recorded clarification call yesterday 2/8/2024, which led to the receipt of a cease and desist notice from you. We remain committed to upholding professional integrity and cannot accede to unfounded demands. We have forwarded all communications to our attorney since after receiving your cease and desist continue to get bombarded with emails from you.

      Best regards,

      Christopher B******* CEO
      Wix Media Group

I suspect his response was ChatGPT generated. I hold strong to my perception and the cease and desist was because he as the CEO was responding defensively and lying about some things. Chris failed to effectively communicate with me on several things that were very important to him doing a good job. While the website looks “pretty” it was almost a duplication of someone else’s website. I provided ALL content. About 98% of what you read in my website was done by me, but I am happy with the look. I felt Chris pushed for me to write the review and asked me to give him positive marks so I did but that was before all of the work was done. I should have waited because Chris told me he will do the SEO basic work he said he added $500 to the total cost to make to final total $2500. This was told to me after telling Chris I had already completed the set up and connected the site to google. He didn’t say anything except requesting me to give him privileges to go to the back end of the website to complete the SEO work. A week past and no work was done I know because I checked myself so his response above doesn’t mention all of this which tells me it was written by ChatGPT and he is disconnected from what is reality. He admits in emails about one of his failures but doesn’t mention it above. Anyhow, after giving Chris permission to work on the SEO they did make a couple small changes messing things up from what I had already done. My website SEO should be similar to that of my competitors. They never asked who are my competitors and instead made assumptions and used very poor SEO tile tags , etc. I stand by what I said and most importantly have facts to back up my statements. PLEASE REVIEW HISTORICAL REVIEWS ABOUT HIS BUSINESS… I’m not his only complaint… He’s trying to cover his butt and has to use words from ChatGPT to write his response. A BIG DISCONNECT… Regarding the cease and desists email and 3 that followed were emails with more factual important showing him the errors he left and his work was incomplete. All from highly professional SEO experts. I would not recommend ever using his business to anyone. I don’t want a refund. Please stay away. READ HIS REVIEWS… If more than one person is complaining there has to be truth to it… Anyway I hired a professional and expert and I’m happy now…

I appreciate your continued engagement on this matter, and while I understand your frustration, it’s crucial to address some inaccuracies and clarify our position once again. The website we built for you was customized according to the specifications and preferences you provided. Our team worked diligently to ensure the final product matched your vision. It's standard practice for clients to provide content, as you did, because it ensures the website accurately reflects your voice and brand. We never claimed to offer copywriting services within the scope of our website design package. Regarding SEO services, the record is clear that no additional payment was made for SEO beyond the website design package, which included basic on-page SEO as a complimentary service. This misunderstanding seems to be at the heart of our disagreement. The recorded call I referenced was shared to clarify that you had no idea what was discussed. I called as a courtesy to say we can help with your SEO for free and is included as part of our website services. Asking for reviews is a common practice, especially when a client expresses satisfaction with our work, as you did initially. Our request for a review was based on your positive feedback at that time. We value all client reviews as they help us to continuously improve and celebrate our successes. With a portfolio of nearly 700 projects, the occasional negative review is statistically likely, but it does not define our commitment to quality and client satisfaction. The vast majority of our clients have been pleased with our work, which speaks to the dedication and professionalism of our team. Anyone can simply see our track record by reading our reviews online. Thanks for your encouragement to have them look into it. Our goal has always been to deliver quality service and address any concerns proactively. However, your shifting narrative and refusal to acknowledge the terms of our agreement have made resolution challenging. We regret that you felt the need to escalate to a cease and desist notice minutes after receiving the copy of the recorded call proving you wrong, but we respect your decision and have ceased all direct communication as requested. We’re genuinely happy to hear that you've moved on to another provider, that you actually paid. We stand by the quality of our work and our team's integrity. Moving forward, we will continue to focus on delivering exceptional service to our clients and will not be investing further time into this dispute. It’s okay to agree to disagre and I understand you have to say what you’re saying to protect your business and quite frankly I’ve moved on and the the company I’m working with now has fixed the issues with broken links and other issues with the website that don’t have anything to do with the SEO but will effect SEO. They were actually simple back end issues anyone could fix but don’t know why you guys couldn’t do it. I mean these were basic website problems that you guys created which affected SEO. Sloppy careless work is how I would call it… I’ve said enough at this time your responses are only to protect yourself instead of owning up to your mistakes. You admit to one in emails but acting like you don’t know what’s going on here. What a shame. YOUR REVIEWS ARE POWERFUL. You should take them serious because defending your mistakes will end up being your downfall. I advise you to just work with unhappy customers and not be so defensive. I said cease and desist because you sent back to back to back emails arguing instead of listening and being humble and trying to understand and fix the problem. Make your customers happy not mad then more mad.

Very important message for all considering hiring wix media group: Please feel free to contact a well known expert in buidling websites and SEO - ***** ****** regarding who is being truthful in this matter. *****'s number is ###-###-####. ***** will tell you he did an audit of my website and he knows I paid $2500 total. He said the basic SEO should have been done and done correctly by wix media group for this dollar amount paid. ***** will also tell you that wix media group didn't do me any justice and left a lot of back end basic information blank, broken links along with many errors. I know Chris will say well that's because he want me to pay for his service. Well, I already hired someone else to go in and finish the work and ***** knows this. Please help me by sharing this on every platform possible. I have already started getting the message out to wix.com and everywhere else I can to make sure this guy is stopped. He is a scammer and knows how to argue to make others believe he is doing a very good job. He isn't! Chris told me himself that he had recently received bad reviews and asked me to give him good feedback. He took advantage of me before I could learn about all of his failures. Read his reviews. Let's get the word out there fast. I don't believe in taking advantage of paying customers. Now that I have gotten confirmation from experts we as a group can get the message to others before they are scammed. Chris will respond with chatgpt because he doesn't know this space. He's not an expert as he claims to be. He will not do the ethical things and let me fill out another review on his company and his horrible work.

I contracted Wix Media Group to build a new website for my business. After a very detailed conversation and submission of new content, they sent me a copy of my current web site as their work, refused to communicate except for excuses, would not refund my money or finish the project. I lost $2500 and months of potential revenue lost. After no communication, I requested that they stop work and refund my money. They claimed that their policy is that once they send a prototype of the site, the funds are non refundable. I woukd agree if the prototype wasn't and exact copy of my current website. They just copied the code from my site and claimed it was their work. Beware!!

I was talked into something I did not need. I was promised it would be completed in 14 days. I was told I needed to switch my premium account over to the website they created, which I did not ask for. I already had a working website, but needed help with other website stuff. No problem, Chris and Kriszy tell me. Well after 3 1/2 weeks, and making a few phone calls and writing a couple of emails, the response is, my website has a lot of components to it and will take longer. I wait and then a few days later get a whole new website without my logo, without some of my vital information. All they did was copy and paste my information into a different website created by Wix. Again, I wasn't looking for a new website, only help with the one I already had paid for. In receiving this, they send me a deadline of 7 days, on a Friday evening, to respond with any other things needed or fixed. I tried calling, no answer on one of the 3 numbers they called me on. Finally, I write an email, and it is a wonderful and lovely response full of fluff, but no help at all. I set up for a phone call and it still isn't resolved. I said I am not paying the balance, unless I receive what I have asked for, which was billing, emails, and other website concerns. As soon as I got off the call with Kriszy saying I wasn't paying, I quickly get a call from Chris B******, CEO of Wix Media Group. By the way, in speaking with one of the Wix customer service people, they never even heard of this company. I would think being number 1, or so they claim, Wix would know them. Well, like what was said in another awful review, Chris fast talked me into paying and accepting the website, which was very nice, but again not needed. Once, I did my new business, just became a big headache for all. I had to quickly switch back to avoid missing payments and clients being able to book. What a disaster! No answers to emails or to phone calls, until we disputed the charges. What a scam artist!

Dear *******, I hope this message finds you well. After careful consideration of your email, I wanted to provide some clarifications regarding your recent experience with our company. Firstly, with respect to the Wix.com support representative who did not recognize our company, it is important to note that Wix.com has numerous partners worldwide. A support representative may not be directly familiar with all partners, especially considering the vastness of the Wix partner network. We remain one of Wix's top partners as evidenced by our public profile: https://www.wix.com/marketplace/wix-partner/christopher-breland#projects. As for the project timeline, we strive for a 14-day turnaround whenever possible. However, each project is unique and complex, occasionally necessitating an extension of this period. Throughout your project, we aimed to maintain transparent communication about the necessary timeframe, especially given the scope of your website. In regard to the final product, you signed a contract expressing your satisfaction with the completed work. This action typically indicates a client's approval of the website before it is transferred to their ownership. Contrary to the dissatisfaction expressed in your review, we had no prior indication that the site did not meet your expectations. We believe we delivered a product that was not only aligned with the terms of our agreement but also enhanced your online presence. However, we take your feedback seriously and regret any miscommunication that may have occurred. Additionally, while we respect your decision to switch back to your original site, it's worth noting that the work we did was a part of our contract, which you acknowledged and approved of by making the agreed-upon payment. The resulting chargeback effectively led to the unjust use of our services without proper compensation, a serious concern that we believe needs addressing. Your feedback regarding our communication is disheartening, as we always strive for open, responsive communication. We made efforts to address your concerns promptly and provide updates regarding the progress of your project. In conclusion, while we deeply regret that your experience with our services did not meet your expectations, we must stress that we delivered on our contract's terms. We believe that the issues raised in your review may have stemmed from a misunderstanding rather than a lack of diligence or professional conduct on our part. We hope this provides some clarity on the matter and reassures you of our commitment to delivering high-quality services and maintaining the highest levels of professional integrity. Best Regards, Chris B******, CEO, Wix Media Group

Chris the owner fast talked me into a sale. I was told that Wix Media had a quick turn around and the project (re-do a website) I needed done had to be done fast. This was the slowest process I have ever experienced with a lot of repeated questions from different contacts there and they didn't explain that they wouldn't release my website to go "live" until I payed the entire thing off. Makes sense I know but they talked me into this by offering a payment plan so I was under the impression that if I was doing the payment plan they would go live when it was ready. Not the case. They did not do any revisions per request and their second draft looked the same as the first, even after I spent time uploading into a drop box my requested revisions. They ignored my requests to talk to a person live and continued to communicate oddly through email only. When I did get someone on the phone it was the owner explaining that he could go live now but I need to pay it all off. It's been a mess from the beginning and now I still have no website over a month after I began working with them.

Dear *****, I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to take a moment to address your feedback, which we received in December of last year. We value your opinion and it's important for us to clarify any misunderstandings that may have occurred during the course of our work together. You mentioned that you were under the impression your website could go live before it was fully paid off. This is not typically how our process works, and we apologize for any miscommunication that led to this misunderstanding. For the protection of our work and the fair treatment of all clients, we cannot make a website live or transfer ownership until full payment is received. This policy is in place to prevent our work from being utilized without appropriate compensation. The delay you experienced was due to a declined credit card, which halted work until the issue was resolved. We understand that this situation coincided with the holiday season, which may have added stress to an already complicated scenario. We regret that this came as a surprise to you. Regarding your concerns about revisions and communication, we take these issues very seriously. It's our goal to ensure all client requests are met and that our communication is clear and effective. In retrospect, it seems we fell short of our standards and for that, we sincerely apologize. After your friend graciously helped settle the account, we immediately resumed work on your website and transferred it promptly. Our intention was always to deliver a quality product in a timely manner. Once again, we apologize for any confusion and stress this situation may have caused you. Your feedback has given us a lot to reflect on, and we are working to improve our communication and clarify our payment policies to prevent future misunderstandings. Please feel free to reach out if you have any further concerns or if there's anything more we can do to assist you. We appreciate your business and your patience in this matter. Best Regards, Christopher B******
