  Ideal Heating and Air came to do our yearly winter tune up on our HVAC system. The technician was very polite and told us that our upstairs furnace, which is 11 years old, had a crack in it and he was required by law to tell us to turn it off. He then gave us a quote to replace a new furnace ($4200-$4700) and since labor was a large part of that price, that we should consider replacing the air conditioner too. He also said that our outdoor unit should be cleaned to make it last longer and that it would be about $350.00. We kept the furnance off all weekend and we decided to spend the money to have a second opinion. Another company came out and suggested that we ask Ideal to send us a picture of the crack in the furnace. We did and Ideal sent a picture. This other company then looked carefully at the furnance (inside and out) and found no cracks. They said we coudl turn the heat on and there was no issue. We decided to contact one more company to truly verify if there was any issue with the furnace. The other company came out and said again, that there was no issue with the furnace. No cracks and it was in great condition. Ideal was completely dishonest with us, claiming there was an issue, and then encouraging us spend the money to puchase a new system. Thankfully we got second opinions.We want to warn others from using Ideal Heating and Air in ****************** as they can't be trusted.

  The night after the technician left from a routine maintenance appointment, the unit ran nonstop without cooling. When the unit was checked the next morning the coils were frozen into a brick. Another technician came out the following evening and left without communicating any findings. I called the next day and learned that he prepared a quote that was never sent. I was also told I needed to pay before they ordered a needed part. I forwarded the quote to another company and learned that Ideal was charging $1206.01 in bogus service. I was also informed that Ideal was overcharging me for the needed part and repair: $1182.14. These charges were all because Ideal came out to perform routine maintenance. They are not to be trusted. Our property has been without AC in July for going on 3 days because of Ideal's idea of "maintenance."

  I have used Ideal Services for over 8 years. They installed my heat pump system and a new duct system and I'm so glad I got the electronic air cleaner they recommended, it has really helped with allergies and dust in my home. The system works great, only one repair needed in 8 years and when work was needed Ideal was right there. Its never fun to need service nor enjoyable to spend hard earned money on repairs but Ideal does make getting work done as convenient as possible. They give a 2 hour arrival window, and call when the technician is on the way, provide written detail of findings and written quotes for all repair options. They offer multiple options to pay for repairs including CC payment by text and financing plans. Everyone there is so nice and I always talk to the same people when I call to schedule my maintenance. I don't know if they are the lowest cost but you will be hard pressed to find a more knowledgeable, friendlier bunch!
