    My son has some non traditional feeding issues. He has a strong gag reflux. From the start our therapist assured us she could help us and knew how to handle it. I spent half the sessions with her talking about what foods he would and wouldnt eat. Then she would bark at my son for a few minutes to slow down his bites and not eat too fast. He eats a great variety of food so getting him to try new things wasnt our issue and I was upfront about that yet she still spent time talking me through it. She also insisted I bring new foods to the appointments so she would chat with me about what foods he doesnt like to have him try. One week I brought potato salad because she said to bring foods he doesnt eat. Then she told me he didnt need to eat potato salad and like it because she doesnt like it. I only brought the potato salad because she said to bring foods he doesnt like. At our last appointment I was planning on bringing up that she wasnt hitting the issue but she all of the sudden graduated us. We still got charged for that appointment even though we were in and out of her office within 12 minutes or so. It was ridiculous. Im sharing this to hopefully spare parents the frustration and waste of money/pt appointments with insurance.

    Words will never express how grateful & thankful we are for the help, skills, support, patience, and true caring that we received here while helping our child develop the muscles and teaching the skills he needed to chew, swallow, actually eat and get weened off this feeding tube!! I drove there from eastern VA every week; that's how good she is. In a couple weeks, we are going to be tube free.
