On March 29, 2024 my mother was being transferred from 5 Oaks Rehab faclity in *******, ** to Transitional Health Services in Kannapolis, **. At arrival, Transitional Health Services was given a check for $11,070.00 for my mother to be placed into their care. Very shortly after her arrival (within 2 hours), my mother was assessed and immediately sent to ************************** in *******, **. My mother was never admitted to Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis, **. Her condition had deteriorated so badly from the facility that she had been at, that she wasn't able to recover and passed away on April 5, 2024. On April 8, 2024, I advised ************************* the Director of Transitional Health Service of my mom's passing and obviously she would not be admitted there and to please issue a refund immediately. ****************** offered his condolences and agreed that the reimbursment is legitimate and would do so immediatelty. It has been 2 months now, and all I am getting is excuse after excuse why we have not been reimbursed. I spoke the Clerk of Court 6-3-2024, and was told that they had to send a check back to THS because the amount was over $5,000 and the check should have been made out to *********** of ***************************". THS is now refusing to answer phone calls and text messages.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/21/2024

I have attempted to work with ************************ since prior to his mother arriving to THS Kannapolis.  This included providing my personal cell number in which he used frequently.  As soon as his mother passed away, ************************ starting to request reimbursement of funds that were paid prior to her death.  I, along with my team worked to assist with the reimbursement that essentially comes from our corporate offices.  ************************ requested contact with our corporate offices and after I was able to ascertain who would be the best point of contact, I had them to call him.  At that time I ceased all communication through my cell phone as he had expressed that his confidence was with our corporate office.  There has not been a single message delivered to me in which he has called THS Kannapolis as I will not communicate with him through my personal cell phone.

I have also reached out to the clerk of Court as there is no evidence that a check was returned to us.  After being sent to various people and told that not even an estate was set up for ************************, they said that they would call me with any updates.
