Upon first contact with ***** (owner), he explained how he was affiliated with Geico and any paint body work had to be approved by *****. To back this he showed all of the certificates and Geico things in his shop. After he started work on the car, he became a complete jerk. He would avoid me when I would go to check on the progress of the vehicle or if i called the shop. After a few weeks of having the vehicle, the shop called to say the vehicle was ready to be picked up. When I arrived to pick up my vehicle, I noticed damage to the vehicle that was not there when it was left. The owner of the shop became very rude and aggressive when I questioned him about it and tried to say he didn't touch that part of the vehicle. The damage was to where the bumper was put back in place (which was the piece of the vehicle being replaced). He agreed to "repair" the damage and kept the vehicle for two more weeks. At first sight of picking up the car all seemed to be ok. By the next day driving down the highway, a piece from under the hood flew up and lodged under the windshield wiper. This prompted us to look to see how that happened. Which led to the discovery that multiple clips to hold EVERYTHING in place were missing. Almost everything under the hood was broken or loose. We went back to the shop to see about the missing clips that were ordered per the insurance company. The owner acted as if we removed the clips ourselves to have something to argue/complain about. After having the car and driving it for a week, the bumper has shifted and is falling off of the vehicle. Since this, we have contacted *****, who informed us that **************** nor Performance Elite ******** is affiliated with Geico in any way. They advised us to discuss with ***** steps to repair the vehicle. Attempted to do this, which resulted in ***** trying to fight my husband. What a business owner. I just do not want anyone else to be fooled by this man or his shop!

      Business Response

I am ****************, and I own Performance Elite Collision and I also am a technician. We fixed *************************** (husband of *********************) sons Jeep per estimate (we have invoices and paperwork). We also repaired the rear quarter for free (the cost of this specific repair was $640.70).The customer (*************************, husband of *********************) said that there was a chip on the vehicle that had nothing to do with us, and we fixed it and the customer proceeded to flip out. We decided to repaint it for him. He then complained about missing clips on the passenger front wheel well. We replaced them. He then proceeded to ask us to fix his wife's vehicle (2019 Infiniti). I said no because he wasnt happy with the work we did for his sons **** so I knew we wouldnt be able to make him happy on this job. By us saying no to him ,repeatedly, he then proceeds to get aggressive and threatening towards me and my employees. He fussed about the deductible and so I cut it in half. We tried to make him happy but we never could. It was always something else that needed to be done that had nothing to do with us. He kept on and on about fixing his wifes vehicle and went on to explain that we were the best shop. We told him that there are other great shops around and in the Fayetteville area that are backed by Geico. He kept me from working, Im the owner of the shop and I am also the technician. He believed I was avoiding him but I have employees that are here to help the customers and answer their questions. After an hour and a half of telling him no, I caved in and told him to bring in his wifes vehicle on a certain day and we will do the work. He brought in the vehicle and we ordered the parts, exactly what was on the estimate (I have paperwork and invoices to prove it). When we brought in the vehicle my employees that go over the vehicle and take pictures of the vehicle discussed with the customer that the driver fender was a different color than the rest of the vehicle. The customer told them that he had it repaired at a backyard shop. We did the work and had to paint the bumper 2 different colors to match the driver and passenger sides of the vehicle. When he got here, the bumper, because of past repairs, didnt fit quite right on the driver side, it was a very slight difference. We explained to him what was going on and the customer just wasn't satisfied. We explained that insurance wasn't going to pay to fix this. We told him that we would fix it for free. We repaired and painted the entire fender free of charge to the customer, but this specific repair cost $605.18. He came to pick it up and he basically said that it was great work and he was happy with it. 4 days later he came back and said that clips were missing under the hood and the fender liner. So, I replaced them all (around $30-$40 worth of clips) in front of the customer, even though we didnt touch those parts of the vehicle. He then came back after an oil change from ****** and said that ****** gave him broken clips (which he never showed me), and the bumper popped out mysteriously on the passenger side. Before I could explain to him that ***** would need to come out here and look at the vehicle , he told me I was a liar and I was scamming people and I am not actually a partner with *****. He felt scammed because he wanted an OEM bumper and I had to use an a/m bumper and he claimed I didn't tell him that and I told him it is on the paperwork that we gave him when he came and picked up the vehicle as well as on Geicos paperwork. I told him he could deal with ***** and he started to get mad and cussed at me and my employee and he told my employee that he wasn't talking to him he was only talking to me. He threatened to beat me up and drag me across the street. As of April 19th, 2024 at 1:20pm, I called a Geico adjuster and they proceeded to tell me that I was still a Geico partner. We do drive-ins for Geico and in return, they back our work. This guy is toxic and hostile. He has a negative reputation throughout the community. Before ******************** came up to the shop on 4/19, there was a solution in place. ***** had already spoken to me and ********************, and they had said that they would give him an OEM bumper. So, a solution was already in place before he came up here. It seemed that he only came up here to be confrontational. If ***** didn't back my warranty, then they wouldn't have honored fixing his vehicle again.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: Mr. ***** is unprofessional and will never own up to what he does. My husband and I went to the shop to pick up the car the first time that we were told it was ready. We both agreed that it looked good, but the bumper on the passenger side (which was not the side that was originally damaged) was not lined up at all and paint was already chipping off. No one asked him to repaint the area that was originally painted by another shop, we only asked him to repair what he was supposed to have repaired in the first place. The insides of the vehicle under the hood are all connected to the front bumper of the car. This is the part of the vehicle he repaired. He also removed a headlight, therefore he is a liar when he says that he did not touch certain parts of the vehicle. We have had this vehicle for five years and nothing under the hood has ever been loose, after an oil change or a paint job but all of a sudden Mr. ***** works on the vehicle and pieces are broken and flying up from under the hood while driving down the road. The only reason my husband went back to the shop was because he had talked to **** with ***** who told him that Mr. ***** was not a representative or affiliated with Geico in any way and the only way to reach a solution was for him to return to the shop to speak with Mr. ***** about repairing the vehicle. My husband told him that this would not go well, but he was still told this was the step he had to take. We do not want to deal with Mr. ***** ever again nor do we want anyone else to be sent away from his shop with the impression that their vehicle has been repaired when it in fact has not. You can't send someone away with a car that is not properly put back together and not expect them to complain or voice concerns when they discover they have been deceived.

Again, we do not want anything from Mr. *****. Only to make people aware to stay away from this shop!
