      We purchased a home and put $2,000 down. It was a great floor plan and seemed like something my family and I would love. While it was being built, my wife and I would stop by and walk through the home periodically. There were 2x4 studs that were almost completely broken, some that were bowing so far that they looked like a longbow, and others that were literally in shambles. It took WEEKS to get the issue addressed and the company kept cancelling our meetings. Due to the issues with the structure of the home, and difficulty with communication we decided to cancel our contract. The company refused to refund any of our money even though it was the poor quality of lumber, workmanship, and communication that led to our decision to cancel. I am not risking my family's life for $2,000. I have two friends that bought new construction from dream finders in that same neighborhood and have had nothing but problems. They can't even get the company to fix all the problems with their homes.

      Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We appreciate the opportunity to respond to the customer's concerns. After reviewing the contract and the circumstances surrounding the cancellation, we understand that the customer signed a contract that outlined the terms of cancellation, including the forfeiture of the deposit. During the construction process, defects can occasionally occur, which is why we have multiple layers of inspection to ensure the quality of our homes. When a defect was identified, we took corrective action, and the home passed the framing inspection. We accommodated the customer's request to self-inspect the framing, although it's not standard protocol for buyers to inspect each phase of construction. However, the customer was unable to meet during our standard business hours, and we were not able to accommodate their request for an after-hours meeting prior to the drywall schedule. Postponing was not an option as it would have delayed the build schedule. Regarding the customer's friends in the subdivision, we take all warranty requests seriously and thoroughly inspect each issue to determine coverage. If approved, repairs are made in a timely manner. However, it's essential to note that the customer in question cancelled their contract with us and did not purchase a home, which may impact the accuracy of their assessment. We strive to provide quality homes and excellent customer service. We believe we've followed the terms of the contract and industry standards in this case.
