    We had damage to our deck and they were supposed to come and repair it months ago. we have already paid ******.******* will not answer his phone when I call or respond to text messages

    I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.
    ******* ****** contacted me first part of the week by email and said he would call me the  next day when he got his phone turned back on. He said he would repair our deck by the end of the week. I have have not heard anything from him since the email

    This company built us a screen porch last May and the first time it rained we had a leak!!! I contacted the owner and after weeks of excuses he finally sent the guys out to fix it but they didnt fix it and I started texting him again and got one excuse after another. He finally came out and said he fixed it but no! Still leaking!!! He promises to call and set up a time and never does! The leak is getting worse and ruining my furniture cushions. I have all my text to him and still no response! I have all my text/ correspondence with ******* available Please help!!

    On April 12, 2024 I contracted with Carolina Deck and Screen Porches to build a deck and screened porch and gave a $9,000 deposit. Work was to begin on June 3rd; work was delayed (by contractor) several times for various reasons. Eventually work began the first part of August and was completed on August 18th. Additionally I contracted with Mr. ****** (owner of Carolina Deck and Screened Porches) to install 6 fans in my house at $50 per fan. The problems that I am having that Mr. ****** is unwilling to address are as follows: Screens are loose and coming out of the frames on the porch. The screen doors on the porch are sticking when attempting to open/close. The frame on the screen door area is coming undone. Five of the fans are not working *********** total I have paid Mr. ****** $12,500 for the screened in porch and deck and $300 for the fan installations. I have contacted Mr. ****** three times by text and once by email. The first text I sent he responded stating that he would be out to fix it at 10 am on Friday, September 6th, then he text me on that Friday stating that he was ill with something and would get back to me when he was feeling better. I have not heard from him since then and he has not responded to my texts or email.

    I have been in montana on vacation for the past 3 weeks I haven’t gotten back in town yet to adress your problems. But i cant come fix the screen every time your puppy jumps on it and knocks it loose or your grand children knock it out ! As far as coming by to take a look at the rest we I am back in town I will be glad to come by and take a look to see if we can fix the problem i will be back on October 20 2024 and will set something up for you at this time!

    On March 31st, $7,150.00 was paid in cash to ******* ****** with a receipt given. He was to build a screened-in porch as well as extend our front porch out. He sent a crew out several weeks later to tear down our original deck. After that, he never showed back up. after over 6 weeks of silence with occasional texting with excuses as to why he couldn't show up or that he would be there the next day, I finally asked for my money back and he has not been in contact since.

    There is a no refund policy on deposits as stated here on the bbb website under Carolina Deck and screen rooms LLC . I will be glad to set a Date and complete the work as promised. At the time work was supposed to have started i had 2 consecutive deaths in my family and was battling a kidney problem and tried to work this out with ms ********* but she wanted to call me a liar and demand her money back and post on ****** a bad review which has cost me thousands of dollars so if she wants the work completed I can set a date

     I am rejecting this response because:
    I have been more than patient and understanding with *****.  Some even said naive. I even contacted and verified that his daughter he claimed to have died, did not in fact die. The other daughter that did die, I happened to know personally, and she died in January of 2023.  The second death that he speaks of, I was never told about. After his rebuttal was sent through the BBB, I reached out to him,offering for him to come complete the job at his convenience, to which I received no response. What I wrote on the ****** review was true and factual, I stand by that. I did try to sue him in small claims court however he was unable to be located by the sheriff so he was not served. We will continue with that avenue. I also know that I will most likely never see much of that $7,150.00 given to him again. As you can see attached in an email to *************************************** ,are all of our interactions. No where in any email, text or receipt does it mention a "no refund policy." I am aware of how the legal system works and it is to my belief that he sent a crew to tear my deck down to avoid criminal charges, with no intention of ever returning. Put simply, I want to prevent this from happening to others in the future, which is why I'm taking time to go through the BBB and report him. 
    I have since hired another contractor to complete the job at a much greater expense.

     I am rejecting this response because:

    That is fine that you have a no refund policy. We will say that you do, theoretically. Do you have a policy on you not completing the job AT ALL? Like you only came one day and then never came back? After our last correspondence through the BBB messaging where you claimed I was difficult to work with, I reached out to you via text message, offering to have you over to complete the job at your convenience for the 15th time. You never responded. The BBB has a copy of that offer on file.
