Classic Metals installed a metal roof on a building for me in July 2019. It wasn’t my residence and some time later I happened to be onsite while it was raining. I noticed that on one end of the building water was coming off the side of the building and running down the eve instead of running down the roof and into the gutter. I called and reported the issue and asked that someone come out and fix it. I naively assumed it would be taken care of and failed to follow up. Then in July of 2022 I happened to be onsite another rainy day and noticed the rainwater was still coming off the side of the roof and running down the eve. And now the water trail down the eve was blackened with what looked to be scum or dirt or mold. I called again and this time my issue was passed on to someone named Brandon who promptly called me back. I verbally explained what was happened and without seeing it he told me there was nothing wrong with my roof and that some water flowing off the side of the roof was normal for a metal roof. I took pictures of the pertinent area of the roof and sent them to him feeling sure that he would see that the piece of metal that makes the transition from the steeper part of the roof to the less steep porch was attached in such a way to cause rainwater to pool around the last attachment screw and flow off the side of the roof instead of across the transition metal and down to the gutter as it was suppose to. The transition piece at the other end of the building was working correctly. Water flows over the transition piece, then down the roof and into the gutter as expected. Much to my surprise, when next we talked he continued to insist there was nothing wrong with my roof, that’s just the way metal roofs are he said. If you screw it down and it bends the metal causing the water to flow in the wrong direction, that’s just the way it is. Needless to say, I will not be using Classic Metals again.
