I took my wifes car in for an air conditioner repair. ( leaking high pressure hose). The industry standard on this repair is $600.00- $800.00. I was contacted a few hours later by text! The text explained that the vehicle had been thoroughly inspected and that I need $5000.00 worth of repairs.I authorized $2200.00 in repairs and picked up vehicle that afternoon. Exactly 1 week later I had 2 pay $350.00 to have vehicle towed to dealership because of engine failure.

      Business Response

      Date: 04/07/2025

Mr. **** came in on 3/27/25 for an air condition complaint. After performing the air conditioning diagnosis, it was confirmed that the high pressure air conditioning line was leaking refrigerant. A vehicle health inspection was also performed, at no charge, on the 2013 Kia ******** During the inspection, several items were found that needed attention (The Inspection Report included). There was visual evidence that the high pressure fuel pump was leaking fuel into the engine and mixing with the oil. The engine oil smelled very strongly of fuel. Mr. **** approved the replacement of the air conditioning line along with the replacement of the high pressure fuel pump and oil change. The parts were replaced and the vehicle was repaired, it was test driven for 10 miles, before it was returned to the customer on 3/28/25, with no problems. I was made aware, per an ugly text, that the vehicle was having trouble on 4/3/25 and was back in the shop. I responded by text and called but was not made aware of what had happened or why the car was back in the shop, no response at all. I have since, on 4/7/25, received a call from Mrs. **** concerning what had happened to the vehicle. We are now working with her to determine the next action that needs to be taken.

      Customer Answer

I am rejecting this response because: the repairs were Not performed properly, hence engine failure just a week later. I did indeed sent a strongly worded text message to the repair shop. However, I think any reasonable person could understand given the fact that we in good faith paid for repair that was not completed properly. Furthermore I ask Whitley Automotive LLC to provide the old parts too which they complied. I received a high pressure Air Conditioner line minus the s**** on cap, and a high pressure fuel pump. The only problem is this fuel pump I received was manufactured in 2018 my vehicle is a 2013. I bought the vehicle New and I know Every repair thats been done to this vehicle. Also according to the *** manufacture the o-ring, and the two bolts that how the pump down along with fuel line should be replaced. I did receive the old fuel line with other items but, no o-ring or bolts. Its my opinion that they used the old o-ring as well as the used bolts. Either way the pump failed and did Not meet manufacture specifications according to ***** ****** *** in ************. Whitley Automotive LLC has a 4.9 out of 5.0 rating on the internet. If this were my business I would bend over backwards to mark it right!!
