  February 13, 2025, I was SCAMMED by persons using a Marketplace advertisement. They claimed to provide a furnace duct cleaning service operating out of ********* or ***********They are using multiple identities. They may initially ask for something like $199 for a small house with a certain number of vents. They will likely lower their price if you do not commit right away.I had ******** messages with an individual regarding duct work cleaning. I had a bad feeling about the individual based upon his pushy attitude and exaggerations about how good his equipment was. I turned down the service. I then contacted what I thought was a different person from another ******** ad. The voice was different, the person reasonable. I made an appointment. Just before the appointment I get a text stating that he was sending over a couple of his technicians. These turned out to be the original people I had rejected. They had done a bait and switch on me which I hadnt discovered until later. I agreed to pay $199 for just heat (not air intake) for a 3 bedroom ranch. It is a low price but I only need floor vents vacuumed and I needed no work on the furnace or air intake ducts. They show up with an unmarked white step van. Inside, they have a moderately powerful vacuum. They drag about a 4 inch, dirty, corrugated hose through your house, as well as an air line. The air line has a rotator at the end with what looked like weed trimmer line on it. The most insulting part was he jacked up the price to $220. When I questioned it, he explained that it was tax. I explained there is no tax on labor in the state of *******. I was glad to get the dirty, lying men out of my house, so I paid the extra $21.   Hello, 

  This is NOT Pristine Air Duct Cleaning LLC.  Number one, we do not use any cold calling systems like Marketplace or any outsourcing messages sent on Facebook.  Number two, we never offer any prices ever unless we have a customer call in to make an appointment for the technician go out for a free quote.  It is unfortunate this gentleman had this experience and was so easily scammed but even more unfortunate he wrote a complaint to give our legitimate business with reputable reputation such a bad name.  We are aware that a lot of scammers use the name Pristine when reaching out to people to try and get into their house.  If you look at our customer responses you can see why they would want to use our name.  People need to understand that there is NO affiliation with our company at all.  We are local family owned and operated out of ****************  We also use system called Housecall Pro for all our booking and invoicing, there are records of every customer we have ever served.  We have wrapped Vehicles with all the Pristine logo and our technicians wear uniforms as well with Pristine logos.  This is clearly not us and very unfortunate.  Please let me know any questions and how we can resolve getting this complaint not associated with my company.
