Date of Transaction/Consultation: 19 January, 2023 Amount of money paid: $8,849.50 (50% of deposit) once we had contract and full amount quoted on contract is $17,699. There is no telling if this price quote will change. What was business committed to provide: A shower installation and new flooring What the nature of the dispute is: On 19 January, 2023 we had a free consultation with *************************. She called on the afternoon of the 23rd and said she was running late. When she did arrive she was very flustered and her computer/presentation were not working properly. She had to call her husband to ask for some computer technical assistance. She even called our son to ask for some assistance. She did not present her to be thoroughly trained to handle this vocation. During our consultation she said we would be receiving a military discount & senior citizen rate which was supposed to be on an itemized report on the contract and it was not. She took some measurements but we are not sure they were correct. She did not leave any business cards so we could contact her. When she left on ***************************************************** knew the full cost amount. We were under the impression that we would be dealing with local people and workers in the ********* ** area. The copy of the contract was sent from *************** ** on 31 Jan and we received it at our home on 4 Feb. ******** mail system takes longer to receive paperwork. ****************** had to call us several times trying to run our credit card. We began to see a pattern with red flags for this company. We canceled the job as it was to high and we felt misrepresented. We feel like they are targeting seniors. Whether or not the business has tried to resolve: There has not been any work that has been started. We consulted with our local bank ***** Fargo and credit card company to dispute the charges. Job or Contract number: There isn't one on the contract

I am rejecting this response because:

This was supposed to be a free consult to discuss the options. She was late in arriving for her scheduled appointment with us. She had issues in getting her laptop presentation to work and called her husband multiple times, her boss for assistance and my son to get the Wi-Fi password. She presented herself as not thoroughly trained and stayed way longer than she needed. We did not have a hard copy of a contract or knew exactly was in the contract as we signed via on the screen of the laptop. This is very unusual for us as seniors. We were not sure if the amount she quoted would stay the same. She made some measurements but we are not confident in her work ethics/standards. She told us their timeline for starting work after we had signed would be anywhere from 4-8 weeks. We needed a start and end date and not have an open ended contract. We are not sure that since she has our signatures and credit cards numbers she could use them for other purposes. She was more interested in upselling products and commission rather than listening to the consumer needs/wants. She promised we would be receiving a military discount and senior citizen discount. We didnt receive a hard copy of the contract until it was mailed from ******** ** not Charlotte or ******** **. The **** mail system takes longer to deliver mail so the deadlines expire while correspondence is en route. She called us several times to get our credit card number which was a red flag as she could be charging us for multiple things.

We feel like they are targeting seniors who dont understand how they conduct business transactions at the present time. The older generation prefers a much different approach and way to conduct and honor business transactions.
